SCENIC RIM ULTRA — 10KM… WELL, SORT OF 😂

The 10km is meant to be your introduction to the Scenic Rim Ultra.

A taste of trail running, some climbing, stunning country and a chance to experience the atmosphere of the whole event.

That was the plan anyway… 😂

Our 2026 runners got a little more Scenic Rim Ultra than they signed up for. A wrong turn early in the race turned the 10km into an unexpected 13–14km adventure, with a fair bit more elevation thrown in for free.

Nobody actually ordered the 10km PLUS package, but everyone made it back safely and were absolute legends about it. 😂

The actual course is a cracker — through the tunnel, onto the grass trails and across the Goan Trail where you’re thinking…

“This is actually pretty nice!”

Then near QMP Moto Park…

BANG. Welcome to Scenic Rim. ⛰️

A short, steep climb takes you onto part of the 100 Mile course, giving you a taste of the terrain our Milers experience around the Loop of Doom section.

That’s what the 10km is all about. Come experience the Scenic Rim Ultra, finish your race, grab a feed and then watch the bigger distances unfold.

Then the dangerous thought starts…

“Next year I might do the 25…”

10 becomes 25.
25 becomes 42.
42 becomes 65.
65 becomes 105.

And before you know it, you’re standing on a start line at 3am wondering how the hell you ended up in a 100 Miler. 😂

Our 2026 crew might not have got the 10km we promised…

But they definitely got the Scenic Rim experience. 🤣🔥⛰️

6:30AM. THE 105KM & 65KM ARE UNDERWAY.

They’re smiling now… but they have no idea what’s waiting for them.

Ahead are relentless climbs, technical descents, ridgelines, creek crossings, heat, darkness and some seriously tough Scenic Rim country.

But it’s the things you can’t plan for that make an ultra.

Some would get lost, turn around and fight their way back into the race.

Some would be ready to quit, only to meet someone out there who refused to let them.

Strangers would become mates. Runners would hurt together, laugh together, swear together and somehow keep moving forward.

Some were taking on their first ultra. Others had worked their way from the 25km to the 65km and now the 105km.

Everyone had their own reason for being there.

You can train for the distance.
You can train for the climbs.
But you can’t plan the story that’s about to unfold.

And bloody hell… there were some incredible stories out there this year.

The 105km has been testing runners for eight years, and once again showed why it’s one seriously tough ultra.

And the 65km might be shorter…

But don’t mistake shorter for easy. Not here.

This is the Scenic Rim Ultra. 🔥⛰️

🏆 SCENIC RIM ULTRA 2026 – 100 MILER PODIUM RESULTS 🏆

163KM.
6000M+ ELEVATION.
ONE SERIOUSLY BIG DAY OUT.

2026 was the inaugural Scenic Rim 100 Miler, and now that people have actually experienced this thing, we're starting to understand exactly what we've created.

The words coming back have been pretty consistent.

Insane. Gnarly. Brutal. Beautiful.

This course is no free belt buckle.

Watching the field slowly get broken down was bittersweet. Every person who stood on that start line had put themselves out there, and for those who didn't make the finish this year, that doesn't take away from what they attempted.

But it also confirmed something.

This course is bloody tough.

It's going to take people multiple attempts to understand it. To work out where to push, where to hold back, how to manage the climbing and how to keep enough in the tank for what comes later.

And that's exactly how a 100 Miler should be.

Then you look at what happened at the front.

Tim Woods — 22hrs 06mins.

An incredible run, and one that immediately raises another question:

Who is going SUB-20?

Because now we know it's there.

And then Tegan Porter.

After a massive performance in the 105km last year, she stepped up for her first ever 100 Miler, went sub-30 hours in 29:26, and was the only female finisher.

Massive.

This race now has somewhere to go.

Faster times. More attempts. More stories. More people coming back after unfinished business.

And one thing sitting there waiting for those prepared to take it on…

The Gold Belt Buckle. 🏆

163km through some of the most spectacular country in the Scenic Rim, with around 6000m of climbing and views that sometimes almost make you forget how much you're hurting.

Almost.

The Scenic Rim 100 Miler has arrived.

Now the question is…

Who wants the next buckle? 🔥⛰️

Male
🥇 Tim Woods — 22hrs 06mins
🥈 Ben Millen — 23hrs 08mins
🥉 Simon Lengenfelder — 24hrs 06mins

Female
🥇 Tegan Ports — 29hrs 26mins

🏆 SCENIC RIM ULTRA 2026 – 105KM PODIUM RESULTS 🏆

SCENIC RIM ULTRA — 105KM — THE OG

This is the one that started it all.

Before there was a 100 Miler, there was the Scenic Rim 105km.

The original big test.

You take on much of what the 65km runners face — the mountains, ridgelines and technical country — but then you keep going.

And eventually you arrive at a place that has built a reputation of its own.

THE LOOP OF DOOM.

On paper, parts of it don't look too frightening. There’s sealed road. Dirt road. Long runnable sections.

That’s exactly how it gets you.

The cadence changes. Different muscles start working. The hills keep coming. The long climbs slowly drain the legs and whatever energy you thought you still had starts disappearing.

Then you still have to get yourself back out of there and through those final kilometres to the finish.

In the early years we saw around a 40% dropout rate at the end of the Loop of Doom.

But something has changed.

People know about it now.

They train for it.
They respect it.
They prepare for it.

And every year we're seeing more runners work out how to conquer it.

That’s what makes the 105 special.

It has history. It has hurt plenty of people. And it keeps bringing them back.

The OG Scenic Rim Ultra. 105km earned the hard way. 💀🔥

Male
🥇 Tom Munro — 12hrs 59mins
🥈 Andrew Kennedy — 17hrs 06mins
🥉 Mark Rhode — 17hrs 06mins

Female
🥇 Denise Davis — 15hrs 35mins
🥈 Caroline Smith — 16hrs 37mins
🥉 Akane Goode — 18hrs 05mins

🏆 SCENIC RIM ULTRA 2026 – 10KM PODIUM RESULTS 🏆

This is your introduction to the Scenic Rim Ultra.

The atmosphere. The trails. The people. The mountains. And that feeling of being part of something much bigger going on around you.

The 10km starts by heading through the tunnel before opening up onto some beautiful flowing grass trails.

You cross over onto the Goan Trail and for a while you're probably thinking…

“Wow, this is actually quite lovely.” 😂

Enjoy it.

Because as you come around near QMP Moto Park…

BANG. Welcome to your first climb. ⛰️

It might not be long, but it's steep enough to introduce you properly to what the Scenic Rim is about.

Once you're over the top, things get even cooler.

You actually head out onto part of the 100 Mile course, following the same country the Milers travel after leaving Checkpoint 7 on their way towards the infamous Loop of Doom — and where they eventually return on their way back into Checkpoint 11.

So even in the 10km, you're getting a little taste of what those runners are experiencing deep into one massive 163km journey.

That's what we love about this distance.

You don't have to spend all day — or all night — out there to experience the Scenic Rim Ultra.

Run your 10km. Cross that finish line. Grab something to eat. Sit back and watch the rest of the event unfold as runners from all the other distances continue their journeys.

And somewhere along the way you'll probably start thinking…

“You know what? Next year I reckon I'll do the 25.”

And that's where it gets you. 😂

10 becomes 25.
25 becomes 42.
42 becomes 65.
Then somehow you're lining up for the 105…

And before you know it, you're standing there with a 100 Mile belt buckle.

The Scenic Rim Ultra 10km.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

Maybe this is where your story starts. 🔥⛰️

🏆 SCENIC RIM ULTRA 2026 – 65KM PODIUM RESULTS 🏆

This could be the sweet spot of the Scenic Rim Ultra.

The 65km flows around Wyaralong Dam and takes in all four peaks — Mt Joyce, Mt Jabara, Mt Crumpet and Mt Moy.

You get the climbing.
You get the technical terrain.
You get the ridgelines.
And you get those massive Scenic Rim views.

You basically get a taste of the whole course… without having to suffer through the famous Loop of Doom. 😂

But there’s a catch.

The 65 is the sneaky one.

It gives you just enough punishment to hurt, but just enough enjoyment to have you standing at the finish thinking…

“Maybe I could do the 105.”

And that's how it starts.

65km becomes 105km.

Then someone starts talking about the Miler.

Be careful with this one. It’ll get you hooked. 🤣🔥

Male
🥇 Oliver Gallagher — 7hrs 50mins
🥈 Noelis Rheault — 7hrs 56mins
🥉 Nikola Draskovic — 8hrs 11mins

Female
🥇 Megan Suurenbroek — 9hrs 38mins
🥈 Kenza Mesnier — 9hrs 41mins
