💛💙 TO OUR INCREDIBLE VOLUNTEERS — THANK YOU! 💙💛
Now that we’ve had a few days to recover from our final home games of 2026, we want to take a moment to recognise the people who have been the absolute backbone of the Beachmere Pelicans this season — our volunteers.
What a year it has been. 2026 has genuinely been our best season yet, and none of it would have been possible without the people who continually put their hands up, often without being asked and without expecting anything in return.
A massive shout-out to our senior players and their partners who have done so much behind the scenes — setting up fences, doing last-minute runs to suppliers when the canteen needed stock, jumping into the canteen, ground marshalling, setting up and packing down, and simply stepping in wherever something needed to be done. You haven’t just turned up to play footy — you’ve helped make this club run. ❤️
And to our junior parents — THANK YOU.
Every home game you somehow managed to coordinate getting your own kids dressed, fed, boots found, jerseys on and to their games on time… while also finding time to set up and pack down fields, work canteen shifts, run the gate, cover bar shifts, ground marshal and help wherever else you were needed.
We know volunteering isn’t always convenient. We know sometimes you’re tired, you’ve had a long week, you’ve got multiple kids going in different directions and you’d probably much rather just sit on the sideline and watch your child play.
But you still showed up.
And that is what makes a community club like ours work.
Every chip cooked, every drink sold, every gate shift, every field set up, every fence moved, every raffle ticket sold, every ground-marshalling shift and every little job that most people never even notice has contributed to what we have achieved this year.
The Pelicans aren’t just the players who pull on the jersey each weekend. The Pelicans are every person who gives their time to make sure our kids, our seniors and our community have a club to be proud of.

We are incredibly proud of what our little club has achieved in 2026, and even more proud of the community of people behind it.
If 2026 was our best season yet… we cannot wait to see what 2027 brings. 🏉
