Warming up the Trainers for for a weekend ahead full of learning, networking and collaborating with the best in the industry.

The excitement and enthusiasm was infectious in a room filled with experienced trainers who’ve travelled across Australia just to be here.

Thank you for the invitation to speak and share insights, experiences and perspectives. Who’d have thought I could talk for 40min non-stop!!

I’ll see all you SWIMCOM swim teachers, coaches and lifeguards at the conference! 💐

Females are 51% of the population, however bystanders are 40% less likely to perform CPR on us because we have BREASTS.

AUSactive completely caught me off guard having a little cry after receiving this award. Such an emotional moment 🥹 after 8 years in the making these moments matter. I give myself permission to be a blubbering mess 😭🥹😂

We Won!

AusActive 2026 Yoga Business of the Year.

Feeling grateful, teary, and slightly overwhelmed to receive this incredible award for my beautiful yoga school.

Thank you to all my past and present students for your support. And a massive, heartfelt thank you to my co-leads over the past eight years, who’ve stepped in to prop me up, teach, and take over whenever I needed you.

I’m grateful to have strong leaders in my orbit who believe in me…and always have.

Tonight feels surreal 🥹

All packed and ready to go after uni. This mornings lecture covered respiratory diseases and asthma which closely correlates to teaching asthma management in First Aid.

Diseases such as COPD are included in the “hidden disabilities”🌻Although some disabilities are not visible, they’re still very much there. They can be situational, temporary or permanent, and they are experienced differently by everyone. There’s 937 listed hidden disabilities including ADHD, Brain Injury and Asthma.
Education stops judgment when the world only once saw visible disabilities.

🌻The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple tool for you to voluntarily share that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent and that you may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces 🌻

A little update on what's happening behind the scenes at YFTT.

Since launching in 2019 the platform has evolved to offering nine online courses. The entire system is self marking (except the videos which are viewed with individual feedback to each student).

The content has also changed bringing an evidence based approach to movement including a 'loop-closing' format where information is broken down to the whats-and-why's of yoga and how to communicate this as an instructor.

Once each quiz is complete, the student receives real-time grades with unlimited attempts to each section. Students are required to meet a minimum of 80% to pass.

The quickest a 200hr YTT course has been certified is 12 weeks with the longest being 18 months. Most student enquiries are yoga enthusiasts who either teach other modalities with a Cert III in Fitness. And then there's around 20% of enrolments being yoga-lovers with the intention of personal development.

The platform is regularly updated with the support of my web team The POP Team. These guys (and gals) are leaders in innovation and have saved me many times from hitting wrong buttons...eek!

All programs are accredited with Yoga Alliance and GOYA Global Online Yoga AssociationThe 200hr, Yin and Restorative are recognised nationally with AUSactive giving us additional weight to our credentialing and benefits to certified instructors.

As I continue my professional development journey through academia (currently completing my third year in Clinical Exercise Physiology), my courses evolve to reflect this with continual updates, and evidence based content while also reflecting the changing landscape that yoga brings to personal and public practices.

I'm grateful to my past and present students and proud to watch you grow your own businesses in your way. I love seeing how yoga integrates into life whether it be shifting a thought or managing a company. Just like us, there's many shades to yoga and yours to step into when the time is right for you.

Namaste and thank you for being here.

I’m really looking forward to presenting at SWIMCON26 on behalf of Allens Training on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

As part of the Trainer Workshop, I’ll be speaking about engaging different generations of students and how we can adapt our teaching to connect with the people in front of us.

After many years as a trainer, I’ve learnt there’s no single approach that works for everyone. Different generations bring different experiences, expectations, energy and enthusiasm which makes training both challenging and super rewarding.

I’m looking forward to sharing some practical ideas and connecting with other trainers at SWIMCON26.
