⚾ Great to catch up with the Schofields Scorpions Baseball Club yesterday while we were out and about in the community yesterday.

There’s something special about our local sporting clubs. Behind every game are volunteers, coaches, parents and supporters giving their time and energy to create opportunities for our young people and bring families together.

The Scorpions are now welcoming registrations for their upcoming summer season! Whether you’re a returning player or new to baseball, it’s a great opportunity to get involved, meet new people and be part of a fantastic local club.

A big shout-out to everyone involved with the club — thank you for what you do, week in and week out.

Strong local clubs help build strong communities, and that’s something we’ll always get behind.

The course is open to participants aged 𝟭𝟮+ and provides the practical on-field component toward Community Umpire accreditation.

Before attending, participants must complete the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 and bring their certificate of completion.

Participants aged 18+ also require a valid Volunteer Working With Children Check.

Following the practical course, participants complete the NSWBUA online accreditation test.

Training for the U12 squad will be this Sunday, 23rd August at 9.30am.
Will be on Kellyville 4 - closest to Canteen. Get used to Hills' time, meaning if you are just on time then you are already late.

We fully understand that your son may have other sporting commitments, and we understand and expect their commitment to those other sports.

Come expecting to play.

Should the weather force a change of venue you will be advised by email.

The trials for Hills' U16 Premier series will be at Kellyville on Sunday,
23rd August commencing at noon. Remember it is Hills' time - if you
are just on time then you are already late.

One of the greatest pitchers in baseball history understood a simple truth: when the pressure rises, trust your command—not your effort.

Trying to throw harder often leads to missed locations. Staying under control and executing your pitch is what helps pitchers consistently get outs.

Velocity is a tool.
Location is a skill.
Learning to command the baseball is what separates good pitchers from great ones.

Just a reminder to all coaches regarding accreditation. You need a Level A for Beeball, Teeball and Modball. Level B is required for Liveball. Level C is required for Hrad Coach representative teams.

Please don’t think that because you played as a child or an adult that you know everything. Having run courses for BNSW for many years I can vouch that that is true.

You also need to be aware that if a child gets injured, or you yourself are injured whilst coaching then you are NOT covered by insurance.
