Could Lexus win ?! K-tunes’ RCF is now confirmed, and it features a Pro driver line up that includes former Super GT champions Takamitsu Matsui and Hideki Yamauchi plus Super Formula racer Sena Sakaguchi.

Porsche and Absolute will have a second Pro line up at where reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven joins title contenders Dorian Boccolacci and Alessandro Ghiretti. No word yet on the livery, but expect another cracker given Absolute’s back catalogue.

Miedecke and MPC are joining forces to run Ford’s factory entry. 2019 winner Frederic Vervisch partners fellow works drivers Christopher Mies and Dennis Olsen. The Mustang joins Chevrolet, Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG, Nissan and Porsche in the fight for overall victory on September 11-13.

Nissan might not be an manufacturer these days but its evergreen GT-R and Team 5ZIGEN Pro driver crew are genuine victory contenders on home turf next month.

Super GT stars Tadasuke Makino, Seita Nonaka and Takuro Shinohara will share Ponos' Pro Ferrari at Suzuka. This homegrown line-up could be a serious contender: Makino was GT500 champion in 2020 and runner-up last year, while Nonaka currently tops the GT300 standings.

🤝 Super GT 🇯🇵 It's official: the Suzuka 1000km will become a points-paying Super GT300 round from 2027! Super GT organiser, GTA, confirmed the news just prior to the championship's event at Fuji last Sunday.

It means international GT3 teams and drivers will compete against the very best from Japan, as well as the nationally homologated GT cars that only compete in Super GT.

GT300 entrants will use the championship’s new control tyre manufactured by Dunlop, which becomes mandatory for all teams from the start of next season, while Pirelli continues to supply international and regional outfits. The performance of both products will be assessed simultaneously during dedicated test sessions in Europe and Japan next year before findings are applied to Suzuka’s Balance of Performance.

SRO’s GT Bureau already has significant experience of regulating multi-tyre supplier competition through its longstanding Balance of Performance contract with Super GT.

Ibrahim brothers Jefri and Abu Bakar are again joined by Ben Green in JMR’s other Corvette. They were Pro-Am winners at , which also helped Jefri move up to second in IGTC’s Independent Cup standings.
