Had a few peeps message me about if I had made selection for the Commonwealth Games.
So I thought I'd pop up a post about it!
What many people don't understand is that there are certain events that some para classifications aren't catered for.
For instance my classification of T34 is not a classification that is represented at the Commonwealth games.
Where as T53/T54 are eligible to represent.
This Commgames we have 5 wheelie representatives all T54 para athletes

*Aimee Fisher Aimee Fisher
*Mikaela Dingley Mikaela Dingley

*Eliza Stankovic-Mowle Eliza Stankovic-Mowle AM PLY
*Samuel Rizzo Samuel Rizzo
*Sam Carter Sam Carter
Luckily for me though T34 is a classification that is represented at the Paralympics along with T52/53/54 but unfortunately not T33
Each Parathlete is classified based on how their disability affects their ability for each sport.
T34 is a wheelchair racing classification for athletes who have moderate to severe impairments affecting coordination and muscle control, regardless of the exact medical diagnosis. While many T34 athletes have Cerebral Palsy like myself athletes with other neurological conditions can also be eligible if their functional abilities match the criteria.
Conditions that may qualify include:
* Cerebral palsy.
* Brain injury.
* Stroke.
* Other neurological disorders that cause similar movement and coordination impairments.
As a side note there are currently only 2 Male T34 Parathletes in Australia myself & Rheed McCracken and only 1 Female T34 Parathlete @ cocoespie
