A man arrived whilst we were setting up on the Friday, he was casually interested in taking some photos of our Rodeo. That small gesture, found him becoming an important part of our team. The Charity Business Buckout certainly lived up to the hype. We would like to thank everyone who stepped forward to participate & made this event happen. The community spirit was alive & well. We were really proud to watch it unfold. You blew us away with your bidding & we’re guessing you will all be very happy to hear where the funds are going! 🥰

The CWAC backed their Representative & purchased Brodie in the Calcutta. They walked away with 50% of the total funds. 10% went to our Barcaldine Rodeo Association & 40% went to a Local group…

The Jenny Lockie Community Assistance Association Inc. This is so very fitting! Jenny herself was an avid Rodeo lover, with her Dad Tom, announcing at many Barcaldine Rodeos. A young Jenny fell ill, and despite treatment, she was taken way too soon in 2000, age 22. The Association was set up in her memory to help support other locals who find themselves in similar situations. When I heard where the funds were going, my first thought was “what a beautiful choice!”

Augathella cowboy Sam Smith riding Ripper, took out our feature event held in memory of Bill Owens. He also received a beautiful Rockin W Buckle & a gorgeous custom Buckle Holder from K Country. Sam’s been on a roll since, he also won the Saddle Bronc at Bollon this past weekend! Again, we thank the Owens Family for their generous support. Bill’s girls Kylie & Neta, are pictured below with Sam.
