Well done to everyone who made the trip out to the uni on Saturday for the annual Athletics Ballarat relays. The sun was out with the course drier than expected across the university lawn.
111 participants joined 31 relay teams for the event with trophies given out to the best performed teams
Eureka Athletics Club took out the OPEN DIV 1 Mens with the team of Isaac Gillett, Archie Grant, Perrie Grant, Josh Johnston, Jordan Mayston & Oliver Ryan taking the trophy home
In the Female OPEN DIV 1 it was Ballarat YCW with the trophy with Bonnie Burt, Aria Violini, Paige Tuddenham & Ava MacGowan storming home to victory

A big thank you to all the volunteers and marshals that made the event happen, a great way to end the Athletics Ballarat CC season.

This weekend we are at Federation University for the Annual Ballarat Relays! Team up with members of your club and take on the 3km course at Federation University! We will have teams for OPEN, Juniors and Overage

Speak to your direct clubs about joining a team ASAP, your club will help you find a team and run
All athletes are asked to bring their Athletics Ballarat Cross Country bib to wear on the course with results uploaded online

Parking will be near Q building, access via either Geelong Rd or Gear Ave with start/finish line in the open grass area

RESULTS ARE IN!

The 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships were held in Ballarat over the weekend. Despite the wet and muddy conditions, spirits were high at our Victoria Park course.

Australian Athletes stated "It has been a bumper year for entries in the Championships, with participation up 10 percent across the board. There also has been massive growth in the junior categories, with girls U11 and U12 entry lists growing by 40 percent."

Congratulations to our amazing athletes. Some great individual, team and relay results achieved over the weekend 👏 and it was great to see some of our junior athletes combine with athletes from other clubs to compete in the mixed 4 x 2km relays.

We're running critically low on volunteers for our fundraising BBQ this weekend - Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd at Victoria Park, Ballarat, and really need a few extra hands to pull this off!

If you can spare 1-2 hours between 7am - 5pm, we'd be so grateful.
