Advanced green and green belt grading late June. To finish off a massive June for Seido Ballarat we held a grading for four candidates. Three going for Advanced green belt and one for green belt. These guys have been training for many years now and it shows with the skill and knowledge they demonstrated. They showed their grit, determination, strength and spirit over always physically demanding three hours. A huge congratulations and OSU! To Callum, Marc, and Emma on promotion to 3rd Kyu Advanced green belt and to Daniel on promotion to 4th Kyu green belt. Osu! Sensei Phil.

Congratulations to Senpai Danny on his successful promotion to Sandan! It has been a tough seven year road to reach Sandan for Senpai Danny. Battling through injury, medical conditions and personal things to get to reach his goal. He definitely embodies the spirit of "OSU" to preserver and to push through any obstacles in his way. A great representative of Seido Ballarat. Well done Senpai!

Congratulations to Kris and Abby on their successful promotion to Advanced Blue belt. In a hard, physical and intense grading they showed excellent technique and spirit. The comments from the Senpai and Kohai were "that was a hard grading". With over 200 punsh ups and crunches completed plus syllabus and rounds of pad work, it was a well deserved promotion.

Congratulations to Seido Karate Ballarat's newest Shodan, Senpai Murray! Murray showed great spirit, skill, knowledge, and ability through a long and arduous grading at the Richmond Dojo in March, in front of many of his Seido peers. We are super proud of the commitment and effort you put in to earn your Shodan. Osu!

Good run down of the history of Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura. Good read. And the picture is great.
Osu!

In 1965 this man became the 2nd person to do the 100 man kumite under Oyama's supervision- but in 1966 New York City....

A young Kyokushin champion named Tadashi Nakamura stepped onto American soil carrying the scars, and discipline, of one of the toughest martial traditions on earth.

He had already earned respect inside Kyokushin, the system created by Masutatsu Oyama.

This was the karate that demanded proof.

Bare-knuckle body blows.
Iron conditioning.
The infamous 100-man kumite.

Kyokushin didn’t hand out belts.

It built fighters through pressure, humility, and relentless training.

And Nakamura thrived inside that world.

He became captain of the Kyokushin team.
One of Oyama’s trusted representatives.
A product of the hardest dojo culture of its era.

But Kyokushin had also given him something deeper than toughness.

It gave him a mission.

When Nakamura later founded Seido Juku Karate, he didn’t abandon Kyokushin’s spirit.

He carried it forward.

The same knockdown fighting.
The same conditioning.
The same belief that technique must be tested under pressure.

But he emphasized a message that had always lived inside the heart of budo:

Strength must be guided by character.

The word Seido means Sincere Way.

Power with humility.
Discipline with purpose.
Fighters who understood when to unleash force; and when to restrain it.

And the truth is this:

None of that would have existed without Kyokushin.

The crucible built the man.

The man carried the fire forward.

Across the world today, thousands of karateka still walk through dojos shaped by that same lineage.

They bow to the same ideals.

Train under the same pressure.

And chase the same standard:

Not comfort.

Not popularity.

But the kind of strength that only hard training, and honest teachers, can forge. 🥋🔥 https://www.texaskyokushin.com
