Some people have dared to suggest that Samson is not an actual coach. To those people, we say:
✔️ he attends every session
✔️ he watches every crew and swan closely
✔️ he maintains excellent morale
✔️ he accepts payment in snacks
Sure, he occasionally falls asleep during technical discussions, has frequent “accidents” on the jetty, rolls in dead rats more often than the rowers, and provides feedback mostly limited to tail wags, but we’re yet to find a coach with better attendance and he really is almost as good as

A little rain wasn’t going to keep our All Abilities rowers off the water this morning!

Just look at this amazing young athlete who has recently graduated from one of our adapted boats into a double scull - a fantastic milestone and a reflection of her determination, hard work & growing confidence.
