Yesterday afternoon’s game for the BMS Ladies Pairs championships was between Shreya Miterani and Di Hampson. The runners-up were Lynette Bryce and Annette Daniels.
Well done to all our indoor bowlers who made themselves available to compete in this season’s competition.
Our appreciation, as always, goes to Jeff Ryan, who organises and prepares things to make our Club’s indoor bowls possible, with the help of his band of hearty volunteers. Well done everybody. Cheers, Anthony McCabe, Club secretary.

Three BMS Players Picked to Represent Victoria

What an achievement! Three BMS players, all from the one club, have been selected to represent Victoria at the Australian Indoor Bowls Championships.

It may just be that BMS Ballarat is the only club to produce this calibre of players!

Veteran competitor and BMS Ladies’ Lawn Bowls Club Champion Michelle Tait, junior player Yuvi Miterani, and his mother Shreya Miterani will proudly pull on the Victorian colours when the championships get underway at Blacktown, New South Wales, on Tuesday, August 24.

Michelle will be making her seventh appearance at the Nationals, competing in the Fours. Yuvi, in his second year at the championships, will compete in the Juniors, while Shreya will also make her debut, playing in the Ladies’ Fours.

Michelle knows only too well what lies ahead. Playing two games a day over five days is an arduous task, but she believes the three BMS representatives are up to the challenge.

Michelle is certainly no stranger to championship success, having already collected one Gold in the Ladies’ Fours, two Gold medals in Mixed Fours and a Bronze in Mixed Fours.

For Shreya, however, this will be her maiden voyage at the Nationals, making an achievement for a mother and son selected even more special.

The BMS members wish Michelle, Yuvi and Shreya all the very best. We know they will give it everything for themselves and for Victoria—and, of course, they’ll be flying the BMS colours with pride.

Go Diggers!

The Training Season Begins

The time has arrived at BMS Bowls Club, with President Paddy Kennedy announcing the start of our 2026–27 training season. Thursday 20-8-26

Our newly appointed Director of Coaching, Andrew Cullen, looks forward to meeting the members and, no doubt, seeing just what sort of players we have at BMS!

Everyone is asked to be at the club green by 4.30 pm to get a head start, with Andrew joining us at 5.00 pm after finishing work.

We hope to see a great roll-up to give Andrew a real BMS welcome and get the new training season off to a great start!
