🏅 Celebrating Victoria's Sporting Excellence 🏅

Last week, the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) hosted its annual Friends of Parliament event at Parliament House, bringing together athletes, government representatives, and supporters of high-performance sport to celebrate the achievements of Victoria's Olympians, Paralympians, and Commonwealth Games athletes.

The event highlighted the incredible impact of the Victorian high-performance sporting system and the role it plays in supporting athletes on their journey to national and international success.

We are proud to see athletes from across regional Victoria continuing to make their mark on the world stage and grateful for the ongoing collaboration between sporting organisations, government, and community partners that helps make these achievements possible.

🎓🏃 Wimmera Lutheran College High Performance Day at Federation University 🏀💪

Recently, we welcomed students from Wimmera Lutheran College for an engaging and action-packed High Performance Day at Federation University.

The day provided athletes with a unique opportunity to experience life on a university campus, beginning with a guided campus tour and an interactive education session exploring how athletes learn, develop new skills, and maximise their performance.

Athletes then put their learning into action with a gym session, gaining practical insights into strength and conditioning, before finishing the day courtside to watch the Federation University Basketball Team compete in a UniSport UBL game.

A fantastic day of learning, development, and inspiration, helping young athletes gain a greater understanding of both high-performance sport and future study pathways.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a success.

🚣 Another Fantastic Day on the Water! 🚣

Our second on-water rowing day was recently held, providing athletes with another valuable opportunity to develop their skills and confidence on the water.

A huge thank you to Ed and Rheet from for sharing their expertise and leading the sessions. Their coaching, insights, and support throughout the day were greatly appreciated.

We're also incredibly grateful to Grammar for once again providing outstanding support through access to their boat shed, boats, and tinnies, helping make the day such a success.

These experiences are invaluable for our athletes as they continue to learn, improve, and build connections within the rowing community.

🥈🏑 Congratulations Felicity! 🏑🥈

A fantastic achievement by Felicity, who was part of the Victorian team that secured the silver medal at the 2026 Hockey Australia Country Championships.

Adding to an already outstanding campaign, Felicity's performances throughout the tournament earned her selection in the Australian Country U21 Team, where she will have the opportunity to represent Australia in Malaysia later this year.

This is a wonderful reward for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the sport. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and can't wait to see what you accomplish on the international stage.
