Great day at the final Athletics Ballarat event for XCR 2026 with the running of the Athletics Ballarat Relays.
Our young team with 2 older heads were convincing winners of the Division 1 event with Josh Johnston and Jordan Mayston combining with young guns, Isaac Gillett, Archie Grant, Perrie Grant and Ollie Ryan for a comfortable win. Eureka's U14 Boys and Girls both took out their events whilst the Veteran women were impressive winning their section.
A big Thank You to all our helpers and the sun was a welcome relief after last week's weather conditions.

Last run at the Uni in 2016 before moving back to the Lake.

Kellie Jantzen took out Eureka's Mega Merch 6.4km on Saturday in fine style. Jantzen caught Michael Till with about 400m to travel and was able to hold off the fast finishing Morgan Colgrave for the win. Till held on for a determined third place. Wayne Robb put in another solid performance to take out fastest time on the tough course with a 24min 11sec run. Ava O'Halloran put in a strong run to win the 3.5km handicap from Belle Jantzen with Rory Colgrave storming home for third. Ebony Henderson led for much of the distance with O'Halloran storming by over the closing 400m. The novice races saw Lawrence Wilson, George Chancellor, Charlie Houghton and Ellie Houghton all running well.

Some great results at the XCR Half Marathon and 6km Road Championships today.
Ben Ludbrook gained his first Open Medal with a PB 3rd in the Half in 66min 04sec
In the 6km Ollie Ryan and Archie Grant went 1-2 in U16 in 18.53 & 18.57 respectively and also won Gold in the team event.
Isaac Gillett placed 9th in the U18 6km and was part of the winning team.
Ava O'Halloran placed 6th in the U16 6km to help the girls to a team win.
Olivia McConchie was 3rd in U14 and gained a Gold Teams medal whilst Anni Clarke, Belle Jantzen and Liv Lloyd made it a 1-2 for Ballarat and took silver in the teams event.
There were many PB's in the 6km Lap of Lake led by Ollie Ryan's 18.57 with Ava O'Halloran running 23.38. Anni Clarke also PB'd with 23.30 as did Belle Jamntzen in 23.46. Rory Colgrave ran a 23.55 and Liv Lloyd ran 25.43 to round out the PB's.
