Judo International

After more than 20 years of running Judo International, this month we are stepping away from the day to day running of the club and passing the reigns onto new ownership and management. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the countless number of judo players, coaches, family members and friends who have shared their judo journey with us over the years. It has been a privilidge to have shared our passion for our great sport, and all the highs and lows that come with it, with so many wonderful people. A judo club is a community and our club has been successful due to the support of the judo community in Perth and internationally and for that we are immensely grateful.

We are now going to take some time to travel and to do what we can to support our children Saya & Vas to pursue their judo carreers internationally.

Judo International is now Perth Judo Club run by new owner Huseyin Altintas. We would like to thank Huseyin for taking on the challenge of continuing the legacy of the club. We'd also like to thank the coaches and members of the club who have supported him in the transition. We will continue to be involved with the club as Perth Judo Club and look forward to many more years of judo together.

Our last club grading for 2024 was a great success today. Congratulations to all of the participants whose hard work has paid off.

Congratulations to Vas Middleton who won BRONZE in -66kg at the Montreal Junior Panamerican tournament yesterday. An excellent result for his first international event in his new weight category.
Special thanks to the New Zealand team for support in the warm-up area all day.

Congratulations to Saya Middleton who won GOLD today at the Asian Judo Open Hong Kong 2024. An awesome result for a talented and hard working athlete.

A big thank you to the National coaches and support team at the National Performance Centre for continued support and development.

Good luck to Saya Middleton who is in Hong Kong with the Australian Team competing in the Hong Kong Asian Judo Open. Saya will compete on Sunday in -70kg.

So proud of these two athletes! Both Marty and Joe finished top 10 in their divisions at the Las Vegas World Veterans 2024 yesterday. Joe placed 7th in M4 -81kg and Marty 9th in M5 -73kg.

Great results on the world stage and wonderful ambassadors for Australia and the club. 🇦🇺💪

To round out the week, we are pleased to share with you the truly awesome team of Veterans heading to the World Championships in Vegas from the 4th - 8th November, 2024.
