As many of you know, fellow club member Tim Miller will soon embark on a remarkable personal journey - walking the Camino Francés, one of the world's most famous pilgrimage routes.

Tim will leave Australia on 28 August 2026 and travel to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, a picturesque town in the French Pyrenees where the Camino Frances traditionally begins. From there, he will walk approximately 800 kilometres across northern Spain, finishing at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, a journey expected to take around five weeks.
While this is a significant personal challenge, Tim would like to use the journey to support a cause that makes a real difference.

Members are invited to make a donation and have the name of a loved one, or a personal intention, carried on the Camino. This could be the name of someone you wish to honour or remember, or perhaps a hope, prayer, dream, burden or message that holds special meaning to you.

Each name or intention will be carefully written on a ribbon and attached to Tim's backpack. These ribbons will travel every step of the Camino before finally arriving at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

The suggested minimum donation is $5 per ribbon, although larger donations are warmly welcomed. Every dollar donated by members will be donated in full to Shoebox Charity.

Throughout the journey, Tim will also be posting regular updates, photos and stories on Facebook and WhatsApp. Tim has made a personal commitment to donate $1 to Shoebox Charity for every text message, WhatsApp message or Facebook comment he receives during the pilgrimage.

This is an opportunity to be part of Tim's journey in a meaningful way while also supporting a worthwhile charity.
