We hope all of our junior footballers and families had an amazing day yesterday celebrating the 2026 season. What a fantastic way to recognise the friendships, fun and memories that made this year so special.

We do have one small favour to ask our wonderful community…

Unfortunately, around 20 footballs have gone missing from our on-field activities throughout the day. We’re sure many have simply made their way home by accident!

If you happen to find an HBLJFC football at home, could you please return it to the club or hand it to your team’s coach? Every football helps us prepare for another great season in 2027.

🦁 WHAT A SEASON 🦁

22 teams. 291 games. Hundreds of moments, memories and opportunities to grow.

And just like that, the 2026 Home & Away season is a wrap for our junior football program! 💛❤️

But a season is about so much more than what happens on the scoreboard.

It’s about development. Achievement. Belonging. Growth.

It’s about kids finding confidence they didn’t know they had. Learning to be part of something bigger than themselves. Learning to support each other, face challenges, celebrate each other’s achievements and keep showing up. It’s friendships made, lessons learned and memories that will last long after the final siren. 🏉

To our parents, guardians and families, THANK YOU.

For the countless kilometres driven, the early mornings, the oranges cut, the flags waved, the jumpers washed, the volunteering and everything else in between. Without our incredible families and community, our kids simply wouldn’t get the experience they do.

To our coaches, assistant coaches, team managers and helpers, never underestimate the impact you have.

Football might be the tool that brings our kids together, but what you provide goes far beyond football. You give them guidance, encouragement, belonging, a safe place to learn and an environment where they can simply have fun and be kids.

You help shape young people. ❤️

To our committee and executive team, an enormous thank you.

The hours that go on behind the scenes are remarkable. With a junior club our size, it genuinely takes everyone pulling in the same direction. So much work happens that most people will never see, but without it, 291 games of junior football simply don’t happen.

And most importantly…

🦁 TO OUR JUNIOR FOOTBALLERS…WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! 🦁

You have played with spirit.
You have listened.
You have learned.
You have challenged yourselves.
You have supported your teammates.
And you have grown.

That is what junior football is all about.

We hope every one of you finishes 2026 a little more confident, a little more connected, with new friendships, new skills and a love of being part of our great game and we can’t wait to see you back in 2027!

But… we’re not quite finished yet. 👀🔥

For our older age groups, FINALS HAVE ARRIVED!

And what an achievement…

🏉 9 out of a possible 10 eligible teams will continue their football journey into the 2026 Finals Series! 🏉

Another opportunity to play together, grow together, challenge ourselves and represent our club with the spirit and values we have carried throughout the season.

Now it’s time to get behind them, fill the sidelines with MAROON & GOLD and enjoy every moment! 💛❤️🦁

Because they say “it takes a village to raise a child.”…At our club, it takes an army of volunteers, families, coaches, helpers and supporters to give 22 teams of young people a place to belong.

And when that army comes together, junior football becomes so much more than a game.

What a year it has been… and now it’s time to CELEBRATE! 🎉🏉

This is one of the BIGGEST days on our junior footy calendar, a chance to come together as ONE CLUB, ONE COMMUNITY and celebrate every one of our amazing Lion Cubs and everything they have achieved this season. 🦁

🏆 PLEASE CHECK YOUR TEAM’S PRESENTATION TIME CAREFULLY

With so many teams and players to celebrate, the day needs to run like clockwork. ⏰

👉 Please make sure players and families arrive BEFORE their allocated start time and are ready to go.

Unfortunately, with such a packed schedule, we simply won’t have the ability to hold up presentations or wait for players who arrive late.

But most importantly…

🎉 THIS DAY IS ABOUT OUR KIDS! 🎉

The friendships made.
The skills developed.
The laughs shared.
The memories created.
And another fantastic season wearing the maroon and gold.

From our youngest Lion Cubs beginning their football journey through to our oldest juniors leading the way, every player is part of what makes our club special.
