It’s Game Day for our VYCW Women as they take the court for their final game of the season.
We would love to see the Gators Family at The Swamp to get behind our young women in this important clash and thank them for their commitment, resilience and dedication throughout the season.
Today also marks the final Youth League game for long-time Gators Tyla Paraha and Maya Ganzon as they age out of the youth program where they have shown incredible leadership and tenancity. They will continue to be integral to our Senior Women's team.
Come down, make some noise and help our girls finish their season on a high. Go Gators!

PLAYER SPONSOR SHOUTOUT
A huge thank you to YVE for proudly sponsoring Max Bakker and Baak Pabek, while continuing to be an incredible Platinum Sponsor of the Altona Gators.
Max is a respected leader within our Youth Men's program. He leads by example and it is wonderful to see him back on court after a difficult season with injury.
Baak is an integral member of our Senior Men's team whose impact extends well beyond the court. Alongside his playing commitments, he generously gives back as the coach of our Under 18.2 Girls and Under 20 Men, helping develop the next generation of Gators.
We are incredibly grateful to YVE. Their continued investment in our players and our club plays a vital role in the success of our programs both on and off the court.

A strong weekend of Big V action saw our Gators produce some outstanding performances across all four teams.
Our Victorian Youth Championship Women held off a fast-finishing Waverley outfit to secure a crucial 79-77 victory. Trinity Hawea was outstanding, recording a dominant double-double with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. Tyla Paraha added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, while Maya Ganzon was incredibly efficient, finishing with 13 points on 83% shooting from the field. Sadie Barth also showed composure beyond her years. The girls face Waverley again next Saturday before returning home to finish their season against Pakenham.
Our Senior Women battled through a tough contest to record an important win over Gippsland United. Alicia Sciberras and Tyla Paraha shared the scoring honours with 13 points each, while Kobe King Hawea contributed 12 points and 4 assists. Trinity Hawea continued her outstanding weekend with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. After a demanding stretch of games and travel, the team now enjoys a well-earned bye.
Our Senior Men produced a spirited fourth-quarter comeback against Shepparton but ultimately fell just short. Thomas Fritz was exceptional with 33 points, including seven three-pointers, to go with 6 rebounds. Tyson Burton recorded a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Lyzel Mataika added 13 points and 5 assists. The Men are back in action on Friday night when they travel to take on the Chelsea Gulls.
Our Youth Men were unable to recover after a strong second quarter from RMIT. Mitchell Smith led the way with 23 points and 7 rebounds, Ryan Robinson added 18 points and 5 assists, while young gun Cooper Hickmott also scored 18 points. Max Bakker rounded out the leading contributors with a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists.
Congratulations to all of our players and coaches on another competitive weekend.
We look forward to seeing our Gators back on court this weekend.
