The Junior State Championships are on at the moment, with the U12s competition wrapping up last night and the U14s and U16s currently underway with a lot of representation from Altona across playing, coaching and umpiring.

Congratulations to the Wildcats U12 Boys team who took out the Gold Medal! Ozzie Hogan and Alex Cooper were both part of that side (pictured).

The U12 Girls Div 2 side (also pictured) took out the bronze featuring Natalia Wieczkiewicz and Charlotte Irving.

Max Brennan was also in action for the Wildcats Boys Div 2 team, with Eleanor Mortimer, Annika Larsen and Noori Willoughby all in action for the Wildcats Girls Div 1 side, both finishing in 5th place.

Well done to all involved and good luck to those involved in the U14s and U16s over the weekend!

What a day celebrating our Family Fun Day and Pride Cup!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate inclusion, to Yarra Energy Foundation for sponsoring the day, all of the volunteers who helped throughout the day with the games, colour run and everything else that was taking place.

It was a wet start to the morning for the Guardians vs Kids games but that didn't stop anyone from having a great time - and it was great to see so many kids joining in the rest of the day from face painting, fairy floss, the magician, through to the colour run.

On the pitch we had the Premier League teams wearing the full Pride kit, all of the junior teams at home wearing the rainbow socks and the pride medals awarded to one player from each team.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate inclusion and to show that everyone is welcome in the sport of hockey and at the Altona Hockey Club.

We're celebrating Pride Round this weekend with big games on Saturday, but there is also another big milestone with Harry Gill playing his 150th Premier League game for Altona!

Gilly moved over from South Australia in 2017 and made his Premier League debut for Altona in Round 1 of that year and has been the ultimate professional across the last 10 seasons. Known for his meticulous preparation and work rate on the pitch - along with bringing his sport science expertise to the groups training - Gilly has been a key part of the squad including many crucial goal contributions over that period.

Congratulations and good luck for the game.

Join us on Saturday for Pride Round and Family Fun Day with plenty of action all day on and off the pitch, starting with the U8s at 9am, and continuing through to the Women's Premier League taking on Powerhouse at 2pm and the Men taking on KBH at 3.30pm.

Today's Premier League fixture at Southern United will see Corey O'Neil step onto the field for his 100th Men's Premier League match for Altona. Since making his debut against KBH in 2019, Corey has established himself as a key defender in the team. His impact is felt at both ends of the field, with his drag flicking putting him at the top of the Altona's MPL goal scorers for the season so far. Congratulations to Corey and good luck for the game!
WPL are playing at 2pm, MPL at 3:30pm.
