Mayor Asta Hill brings a strong background in law, advocacy, and community engagement to her role as leader of the 15th Alice Springs Town Council. A qualified lawyer and dedicated human rights advocate, she has worked to enhance access to justice for Central Australians for more than a decade. Most recently, she served as a criminal lawyer at the Central Australian Women’s Legal Service (2025), following seven years with Legal Aid NT (2017–2024). She holds a Master’s Degree in International Law and undergraduate qualifications in Law and International Studies.
Asta has been connected to the arts community through various iterations; including as co-founder of a Mparntwe writers’ group, member of the Red Hot Arts Board, and participant in the community choir, Alice Sings. Mayor Hill believes creativity and connection are defining features of Alice Springs, which should be celebrated and nurtured.

Alyssa Mason is from Mpartnwe (Alice Springs) with family connections to Pitjantjara, Nganitjara, Waluwarra and Arrernte lands.

You may have heard her host on Briana Alexander for her arts segment. She is also a graphic novelist for stickMOB, a creative studio dedicated to telling and publishing stories from First Nations storytellers through graphic novels. At 18, Alyssa was the first female Indigenous graphic novelist to be published in Australia.

Alyssa’s artistic journey began at the age of eight, ‘I havw been making art pretty constantly since then. I am influenced by my love for Anime, Shõnen Manga, fantasy, comic books, and movies but I am also inspired by my culture, family and country.’

Titled True Colours, the artists a recognised as emerging artists at Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair this year.

Bindi’s Digital Art Program is coming to Larrakia Country for the first time this August! Hot off Danny Rief’s win at the Advocate Art Award, you can see his work at Midpul Art Gallery for the SALON des Refusés opening from 10am. We’ll also be Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair - come and say hi, see what we’ve been up to!

After years of singing along to Cool As Hell by Baker Boy in our digital art workshops (plus countless of posters made in his honour) we were visited by the legend himself!

Thanks so much for joining us in the program Baker Boy. It was an absolute blast, and definitely our favourite class yet!
