Are you an aspiring triathlete aged 14–23 years as at 31 December 2027?

The NT Pathway Program provides developing athletes with access to performance masterclasses, expert coaching, elite athlete insights, travel camp opportunities and a team environment designed to support your development and help you reach your potential.

Join a cohort of emerging athletes from across NT, build new connections, represent your state with pride, and take the next step on your triathlon journey.

📧Never done anything like triathlon before? Neither had these incredible women, but last season they all become triathletes 🏊🏽🚴🏽🏃🏼‍➡️

You can too! Triathlon might feel intimidating, but with a supportive club behind you, it's so much closer than you think. The club community is all about helping new members with every step, providing the guidance and the cheer squad, handing out the high-fives and reminding you how far you've come.

Club training and racing is all about no pressure, just showing up, giving it a go, making new friends and training buddies and coming back for more.

Meet Julie from NT Triathlon 🏃‍♀️

As the Triathlon Sport Coordinator for the Alice Springs Masters Games, Julie is helping bring the action to life this year. We caught her on the go for a quick chat so you can get to know her a little better:

🤔 What is your Favourite leg (Swim, Bike, Run)?
A bit of everything depending on the day, weather, the course, I think the great thing about Triathlon is the variety!

🤔 Do you prefer sprint or long-distance events?
I have done a lot of every distance and had Pro starts in Olympic, 70.3 and Ironman. There are pros and cons of every distance but I think I like the 70.3 distance best. A decent day out without taking up the entire day!

🤔 Is the transition a strength or weakness for you?
Probably a weakness, I like to make sure I have grabbed my snacks as well as my shoes!

How old do you need to be to participate in ASMG 26?
18 years old minimum and hoping for a good range of ages participating

🤔 Where is the best spot for spectators to watch the triathlon events?
At the Alice Springs Aquatic Centre as you’ll see all the athletes coming and going from each of the legs (swim, bike & run)

The bike leg is definitely my preference!

Sprint events all day!

🤔 Is the transition a strength or weakness for you?
Definitely a weakness, I take too long to dry my feet and put on my socks.

🤔 How old do you need to be to participate in ASMG 26?
The minimum age for triathlon in 2026 is only 18.

🤔 Where is the best spot for spectators to watch the triathlon events?
Outside the Alice Springs Aquatic Centre, can see all the athlete's multiple times.
