🏆 Mbantua Gallery Festival of Bowls Open Pairs Champions 🏆

Congratulations to Les Carter & Ray Dienelt, who are the 2027 Mbantua Gallery Festival of Bowls Open Pairs Champions after a hard-fought 11–6 victory over Pat Coburn & Josh van Haaren.

The final was a quality contest, with both teams producing some outstanding bowls throughout the match. Les and Ray were able to edge ahead and maintain their advantage to claim the title.

Congratulations to our runners-up, Pat and Josh, on another excellent tournament, and thank you to everyone who competed, supported, and helped make this year's Festival of Bowls another fantastic success.

🏆 2026 Festival of Bowls – Open Pairs Final 🏆

After two outstanding days of competition, it all comes down to this!

Pat Coburn & Josh van Haaren will take on Les Carter & Ray Dienelt in the Festival of Bowls Open Pairs Final.

All four bowlers have produced some exceptional bowls throughout the weekend, earning their place in the championship match. With local knowledge, experience, and plenty of quality shot-making on display, spectators are in for a fantastic contest.

🧿 Festival of Bowls – Open Pairs Update 🧿

What a massive day of bowls! The first bowl was sent down at 9:30am, and the last bowl finally came to rest at 7:15pm after an action-packed day on the greens.

In Section 1, Mick Hewitt & Jenny Anthony Ashenden and Paul Harding & Jackson Harding have both gone through the day undefeated, putting themselves in a strong position heading into the final day.

Section 2 is incredibly tight, with three teams all sitting on four wins:

Josh van Haaren & Pat Coburn
Ray Dienelt & Les Carter
Scott Pinchbeck & Phillip Ryan

There are three more rounds to be played tomorrow, with the top two teams from each section advancing to the semi-finals.

A huge thank you to Karen Garfath for once again providing lunch for everyone. Your generosity and hard work are greatly appreciated by all the players and volunteers, and you help make the Festival such a welcoming event.

🏆 Festival of Bowls Alice Springs – Open Pairs Begins Today! 🏆

Today our attention turns to the Festival's premier event – the Open Pairs Championship.

We're set for another two days of outstanding bowls, with a strong field of local and interstate players ready to battle it out for the title. With plenty of quality combinations on the green, spectators can expect some fantastic competition from the very first end.

Fresh off their impressive Open Fours victory, Paul and Jackson Harding will be looking to make it back-to-back Festival titles, but they'll have plenty of challengers eager to stop them.

🏆 Festival of Bowls Alice Springs – Open Fours Final 🏆

What a fantastic finish to our Open Fours Championship!

The final featured Pat Coburn , Josh van Haaren , Charlie Gammon and David Dixon taking on Paul Harding , Ray Dienelt, Jackson Harding and Les Carter.

It was a thrilling contest, with the scores locked in a tight battle. Paul's team held a narrow 10–8 lead heading into the 8th end.

The turning point came when Pat drew a brilliant bowl to hold four shots, leaving Paul with his last bowl. Paul responded with an incredible running shot through the head, collecting the jack and taking it back to six perfectly placed bowls to score a remarkable 7 shots.

That decisive end proved to be the difference, with Paul Harding, Ray Dienelt, Jackson Harding and Les Carter going on to claim the Festival of Bowls Alice Springs Open Fours title.

Congratulations to both teams on a high-quality final and thank you to everyone who made another fantastic Festival of Bowls event possible! 🎉🏆
