Big energy. Big effort. One seriously strong squad. πŸ’ͺπŸ’š

This week we welcomed the Ironbank Cherry Gardens Football Club A Grade squad into Fitness Life Studios for the second of three strength and conditioning sessions across the 2026 winter season.

As proud sponsors of the Thunderers in 2026, we're excited to support the team with sport-specific training designed to build strength, power and resilience that transfers onto the field.

The session focus on explosive plyometric warm-up drills before progressing into key strength exercises to help improve performance, reduce injury risk and prepare the players for the demands of game day.

With 24 athletes in the gym, the energy is high from start to finish, with plenty of encouragement, hard work and a few competitive moments along the way.

A fantastic session from the A Grade squad, we're looking forward to welcoming them back for the final session later this season!

Go the Thunderers! βš‘οΈπŸ’š

This is for men over 55 who still want to train properly.

You may have a knee that talks. A shoulder with history. A back you think about more than you used to. That does not mean you need watered-down exercise.
It means you need a coach who knows how to adjust the work.

At FLS, we build strength training around your body, your goals, and the life you still want to live. Real programming. Clear coaching. Sensible progression.

This is for professionals over 45 who already know training matters. πŸ’Ό

You do not need a pep talk. You need a program that fits the week you actually have.

At FLS, your strength work, conditioning, and recovery are coached together. The session is planned before you arrive. The work is adjusted when life changes the day.

You still train with intent. You just stop wasting energy guessing what to do.

Your genetics didn't make the guys you know who are still active at 70 that way. Their habits did.

The body you have at 70 is built in the decade before it. The strength, the mobility, the ability to do what you want without thinking about whether you can. That comes from what you do now.

Most people know this. They just keep assuming they have more time than they do.

You probably started paying serious attention to your finances in your 40s. Your health works the same way. The earlier you treat it like something worth managing, the more you have to work with later.

If you're in your 50s or 60s and you want to know what that actually looks like in practice, the link in bio is a good place to start.

Most people think adjusting the program means changing the exercises.

Usually it's simpler than that.

Same movements. Same structure. You just train at the level your body is actually at today, not the level you think it should be at.

βœ… Fewer sets if energy is low
βœ… A slower tempo if the joints feel off
βœ… More left in reserve if sleep's been rough

The program doesn't change. The dose does. That's the difference between training smart and just turning up and grinding through it.

Semi-private training does not mean everyone gets the same workout.

It means the room has structure and each person has a plan.

One person may need more strength volume. Another may need lower conditioning intensity. Another may need a movement changed because sleep was poor.

The session looks shared. The coaching is individual.

Most programs aren't built for the life around them.

They're built around an ideal week. Consistent energy. Clear schedule. Full recovery between sessions.

Olivia's week doesn't look like that. Neither does yours.

When the program doesn't account for what the rest of life costs, you end up constantly tweaking it. Dropping sessions. Adding sessions. Wondering if the whole thing needs a rethink.

It usually doesn't. It just needs to be built properly for the person doing it.

Olivia didn't need educating. She needed a coach who could work at her level.

Right things. Right order. Right load for the week she's actually living.
That's what we do.

If your training feels like it needs a constant overhaul, it might be worth a conversation. Link in bio.

Strength training after a long break should not leave you wrecked. It should leave you clear.

Most people come back wanting to prove they can still work hard.

We usually want the opposite first. We want clean movement, simple choices, and a session you can recover from.

The goal is not to make Monday heroic. The goal is to make Thursday possible too.

Photos from Fitness Life Studios's post 09/06/2026

A member said this after a set last week. He was not asking to train like he was 25. He just wanted to stop treating every movement like a negotiation. That’s a fair goal.

Strength training often gives people that back in small pieces.

Less checking.
Less bracing.
Less wondering if the body will hold.

Knowing when to ease off is a skill. It took me years to appreciate that.

The people I see making real progress past 45 aren't the ones going hardest. They're the ones showing up the most. Week after week. No drama.
Your program needs to work on a Tuesday when you're flat and tired, not just Saturday when you're fresh and fired up.

A few things I've seen play out over and over:

β€’ Recovery gets slower after 40. That's not a weakness. That's biology.
β€’ Soreness means nothing. What you build over months means everything.
β€’ The whole point of today's session is to make tomorrow's session possible.

If training is regularly wrecking you, the program is the problem. Your effort isn't the issue.
