One of the main reasons I became a yoga teacher was to provide an accessible option for those living with mental illness.
I’ve experienced first hand the lack of empathy and support available locally when you finally make the brave decision to ask for help.
Often, the first step is a visit to a GP. While many do their best, the pathway can feel limited, a prescription, a referral, and then the exhausting process of trying to find someone who is actually taking new patients. Phone calls that aren’t returned. Waiting lists that stretch for months. Services that tell you they can’t help unless you’re in immediate crisis.
And then there’s the cost.
I’m fortunate enough to be able to pay for support when I need it. So many people can’t.
I don’t know what the perfect solution is, but better communication between GPs, specialists and support services, along with more affordable and accessible care, would go a long way.
Mental health is deeply individual. What works for one person may not work for another. In my experience, healing often requires more than medication alone. Connection, movement, community, breath, rest, therapy, nutrition, purpose and support can all play a role.
This is one of the reasons I continue to teach yoga.
Not because yoga is a cure, but because it can offer a space to breathe, to reconnect, to feel supported, and to remember that you’re not alone.
If you’re open to exploring yoga or meditation as part of your wellbeing journey, reach out.
I’m here.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I stand by it.
If you’ve hurt yourself, woken up with a bad back, or strained a muscle at the gym, it’s not always the best idea to book in with your therapist on the same day.
Why?
When an injury first occurs, your body immediately shifts into repair mode. Inflammation is a natural and necessary part of the healing process. It helps protect the area, clear damaged tissue, and begin recovery.
Intervening too soon with deep massage or aggressive treatment can sometimes irritate the injury further, increase inflammation, and delay healing rather than support it.
Every injury is different, but in many cases allowing the body 24–48hours to settle before seeking hands on treatment can be beneficial. During this time, gentle movement, appropriate rest, hydration, and following the advice of a healthcare professional can help support recovery.
As a therapist, I’d much rather see you at the right time than too early and risk aggravating the issue. Sometimes the most valuable advice I can give is to let your body begin its healing process before we step in to assist it.
Not sure what to do after an injury? Reach out. Sometimes the best treatment is knowing when treatment is needed and when your body simply needs a little time to do what it does best, heal

There’s a common misconception that recovery happens during your treatment session alone. While assessment and hands-on treatment are important, they’re only one piece of the puzzle.
Yes, I can prescribe exercises to support your recovery, and often these become just as important as the treatment itself. The small things you do consistently between appointments can create lasting change, helping to improve mobility, restore strength, reduce discomfort and support your body’s natural healing process.
My goal isn’t just to help you feel better when you leave the treatment room, it’s to give you the tools and confidence to continue your progress long after your appointment has finished.
Recovery is a collaborative process, and when treatment is combined with the right movement, the results are often more sustainable and long-lasting.

Can’t remember the last time you received a massage?
Your body probably can. Those tight shoulders, the aching lower back, the tension headaches, the restless sleep… they’re often signs that your body has been carrying more than it needs to.
Massage isn’t just a luxury. It’s an opportunity to pause, release, restore and reconnect. Maybe it’s time to give yourself an hour of care

Lately, life has felt a little messy.
I’m someone who likes to know what’s ahead. A plan, a routine, a sense of certainty helps me maintain equilibrium and support my mental health. When life throws curveballs, it can feel unsettling.
For those who run their own business, I know you’ll understand. We don’t really get sick days. We don’t clock off and still get paid. When we take time out, the income pauses, but the bills keep rolling in.
I’m still healing from my nasal surgery and, if I’m honest, I haven’t yet felt the benefits I was hoping for. Recovery requires patience……something I’m continually being reminded of. But each day I feel a little stronger, a little clearer, and a little more trusting of the process.
So for now, I’m giving myself permission to move a little slower, to honour what my body needs, and to remember that healing isn’t always linear. To everything there is a season. Things will take however long they need to take.

Spring is beginning to whisper her arrival…
The days are slowly stretching, the earth is stirring, and perhaps something within you is too.
✨ Sacred Sunday Reset ✨
An evening of Kakow, Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra designed to help you shed the heaviness of winter and create space for the season ahead.
We’ll sip warm ceremonial Kakow, soften into long-held Yin postures, and finish with the deeply restorative practice of Yoga Nidra.
This is more than a yoga class. It’s an opportunity to slow down, listen, and reconnect.
By the end of the evening, expect to feel:
Spacious in body
Calm in mind
Nourished in spirit
Grounded, yet expansive
Spring reminds us that growth doesn’t need to be rushed. It unfolds naturally when we create the conditions for it.

90 minutes of you time.
Limited spaces available and these evenings tend to fill quickly

Have you experienced Gentle Flow yet?
Perhaps you’ve been curious about Yoga Nidra but wondered if you could really lie still for 30 minutes.
Gentle Flow is designed to help you arrive gradually.
We begin by settling into the space, connecting with the breath and moving through a gentle, mindful practice. The intention is not to stretch deeper or work harder, but to create awareness within the body and calm the fluctuations of the mind.
As the body softens and the nervous system begins to settle, you are naturally guided into stillness, making the transition into Yoga Nidra feel effortless.
So, what is Yoga Nidra?
Often referred to as “yogic sleep,” Yoga Nidra is a fully guided meditation that invites you to explore every facet of your being. Through body awareness, breath, sensation and visualisation, you are guided into a state between wakefulness and sleep where deep rest and restoration can occur.
This practice is accessible to everyone. There is nothing to achieve, nowhere to get to, and no expectation to “clear your mind.” Simply arrive, get comfortable and allow yourself to be guided.
If you’ve been craving a little more space, a little more stillness, or simply a moment to exhale, Gentle Flow may be exactly what your body and soul have been asking for.
I’d love to share the practice with you.
