Our Spitfires Men had a tough game against United this weekend! See what manager Stu had to say about the game!

"Courageous game from the men against an improving United side. Some of our best hockey played in the first quarter, with Spitfires putting the United defence under constant pressure. Game slipped away from us in the 2nd an 3rd quarters as United sustained pressure on our D. Final quarter was a good battle and we created many chances but couldn't find the back of the net"

"We had a strong start scoring the first goal! United hit back hard, but this team doesn't rattle. Down 2-1 heading into the final quarter, we dug in, found our composure, and clawed back to seal the win 3-2."

Last weekend we saw our men compete tooth and nail against United.
We had our attacking opportunities however United managed to make theirs stick.

Captain Liss gave us her thoughts after the game, “we came out hard and stepped up to united. Emi landed a goal which put us up 1-0. We maintained some really good structure and composure but in the end were overrun and unfortunately they got up 3-1. It was a hard fought game and we played some really good hockey, they just picked up in the second half.”

ROUND 5

Our ladies bussed up to the National Hockey Centre to take on UC Stars. We were expecting a tough game and UC came out strong from the start. Our ladies found their groove and managed to put pressure on the other team and keep UC from scoring in the second half.

BOG went to Olivia Mlinaric, showcasing another cool, calm and collected game of hockey.
