Big news for the offshore season!
The ORCV and Port Dalrymple Yacht Club have launched the Bass Strait Cup โ a new annual trophy awarded to the yacht with the best aggregate result across the Melbourne to Devonport โRudder Cupโ Race and Tasmania's Three Hummock Island Race.
Cross Bass Strait. Race around one of Australia's most remote offshore islands. Compete for an interstate trophy. Then, if you're not done yet, turn your attention to the Melbourne to Hobart Westcoaster.

ENTRIES NOW OPEN for the 2026 Melbourne to Devonport โThe Rudder Cupโ ๐
Starting Friday 30 October off Queenscliff, this 195nm race across Bass Strait is Australia's oldest ocean race, first run in 1907. Crew will be greeted and hosted by the Mersey Yacht Club on arrival at Devonport.
The race is open to yachts racing fully crewed, 4+ autohelm, or double handed. It forms part of the ORCV Offshore Championship and a qualifying event for the Westcoaster.
