Binalup Grassroots

Yesterday we participated in the Booraloo NAIDOC Netball Carnival, taking four teams across the U12, U14, U16 and Open divisions. What an absolutely beautiful sunshine day for a carnival that means so much to our community and our Aboriginal MOB .Our girls played with incredible respect, sportsmanship and pride. I couldn’t be prouder of how they carried themselves from listening to their coaches, supporting their teammates, respecting opponents, and showing gratitude to officials. Their behaviour on and off the court reflected who they are as young leaders.
Our U14s made it all the way to the grand final. They fought hard and left everything out there, and although they didn’t come away with the win, they represented our club with strength and heart. All our teams played amazing netball, and it’s clear we have so much talent coming through.

Courtney has come through our grassroots program from Under 12s to this year Under 16s, we are so proud of you Courtney your work ethic, dedication and commitment to improve your game is admirable and inspiring to all our kids that look up to you. We know you are incredible now show the rest of Australia what you can do with the best from the State, the youngest in the team shine bright always.

Due to the generosity of our members, families and supporters we made almost $600 in sales from yesterday’s bake sale at the NetballWA great Southern regional carnival. 🎉 With plenty of yummy cakes, treats and hot soups to keep warm and our bellies full.

These funds contribute to our 2026 program allowing our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander athletes to access playing opportunities and introducing them to representative netball.

Its almost school holidays, which means it's also Regional Championships time this year hosted in Albany once again, between 18th - 20th July, netballers from across the region will be at ALAC competing for championship status.

It’s over for another year!

Boorloo NAIDOC carnival, another year of fun, competition and friendships made & renewed. We had a great day of laughs and learning new skills playing against quality competitors in harsher conditions than what we are used to!

Under 12s made it to the Grand Finals and getting runner up, going down to a really strong outfit that were undefeated all day, girls hold your heads high you did Albany proud today 👏👏 huge congrats to you all and special shoutout to coach Cheri for your guidance and expertise in getting the girls to the GF and leading them throughout the day.

Under 14s led by coach Justine, finished third out of 7 teams, showed heart, grit and talent all day. Unfortunately slipping out of the two to get to the GF the team represented Albany with fierce determination 🤩

Under 16s also finished third narrowly missing finals, was up against some hard competition and showed fierce courage all day, led by coach Brad, each player dominating their position and competing with courage and spirit!l

Special mention and congratulations to Courtney White, named the Junior MVP of the day, this is Courtney’s last year as a Junior joining us in under10s, such a wonderful accomplishment for Courtney to finish the Junior days with such a commendable achievement! We love being apart of and watching your journey 😍💚💛 ❤️💛🖤

Well done to all the coaches, special shoutout to our super coordinator Cheri for bringing to altogetther and all the players and families for making the trip! You are all so incredible and for that we are grateful!
