One of the coolest things about opening our own academy has been having friends come and visit us on the mats.

I first met Thiago when I started training Jiu-Jitsu back in 2012. He was already a purple belt and had a huge influence on my early development. His guard game was way ahead of its time and was a big inspiration for me in those early years.

Big news for us. We’ve got Ariel Tabak coming to Onda, and it’s the only seminar he’s running in Brisbane.
If the name’s new to you: Ariel is head coach at Kumite and one of the most respected coaches going around in modern jiu-jitsu. He’s got a heap of instructionals out on BJJ Fanatics, and he’s the real deal. Usually, you’d have to travel to train with someone like him, so having him on our mats is a bit special.
He’s going to walk us through seated guard, wrestle-ups and single legs in the gi. Basically, the stuff that trips most of us up and quietly holds our game back. The kind of session you come out of with a few things that just click.
It’s two hours, in the gi, and everyone’s welcome, whether you’ve been training for years or you’re still finding your feet. Come learn, roll with good people, and have a good morning on the mats.

We’re excited to welcome Ariel Tabak to Onda Jiu Jitsu for what will be his only Brisbane seminar.

Ariel is one of the most respected competitors and coaches in modern Jiu Jitsu, known for his technical precision, innovative guard work and elite coaching. He is the Head Coach at Kumite, has released multiple highly regarded instructionals on BJJ Fanatics, and has coached and competed at the highest levels of the sport.
