Tennis Whitsunday’s

This week some amazing pics of the mini tennis morning, followed by a beaut pic of two littlies and their grand parents (on a quick visit from New Zealand) enjoying time together in the tennis lesson.

* Did you watch the Wimbledon Women’s Final early this morning between Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova great match with a little of everything. The Men’s Final tonight between Sinner and Zverev, should have you on the edge of your seat!!!!!
*Social tennis was as usual in its element -Tuesday and Thursday evening played wrap round tennis; Saturday morning mixed doubles; Saturday arvo enjoyed the company of three visitors -Peter, Julie and Ian.
*General meeting Monday 27th July.

A pic of the “ Mini Tennis Morning” today (Wednesday). The age range 5-15 years old. I am so proud of the young adults who assisted the youngsters with the activities. The camaraderie was amazing. We should follow their fine example and the world would be a better place!!!!.

*The pics capture “the 5 Amigos” playing hard hitting tennis, putting their heart, soul and energy into the evening ….. And then the aftermath all tuckered out. Well done guys!!!! (ps word has it getting back up was a bit of a struggle) thanks for being good sports!
*Fun in the Sun Tennis Morning – Wednesday 8th July; Time 8-11am; Cannonvale School Courts; includes hand eye skills, tennis skills, other activities including craft. Give a call to register.
* The most prestigious tournament in the tennis world – Wimbledon is now down to the business end of the draw. The Finals will be played this coming weekend.
*Other news? Saturday afternoon social tennis enjoyed a Wimbledon tradition - scones, jam, and cream and “out the bucket” prizes.

*One is never quite sure what may turn up at our Tennis Club!!!! This week a visit from an exceptionally large yellow chicken flew in to watch her brother’s lesson and then flew off to the athletics carnival. The second pic is of the youngsters celebrating “b kinder day”and third inspiring words.
*Quick wrap up - Tuesday and Thursday night were filled to the rafters. Two courts of breath-taking tennis. New faces on the two evenings included, Fred, Callum and Yannis; Wednesday evening was at full capacity as well Saturday morning and afternoon. New faces on Wednesday and Saturday were JJ, Michelle and Brent. They all fitted it like a glove with the regulars.
* Wimbledon the most prestigious, tennis event of the year hits off on Monday, 29 June. It is on free to air TV. Please take the opportunity to view this tournament.

*It’s hard to believe……. but could these cars be ready and waiting for “Street Racing”? Highly unlikely but I do know the occupants are racing down to the courts to launch into night social tennis!!!! The second pics are the drivers “Tennis Racing” on the tennis courts. AND last but not least is a reminder of “b kinder day” on Monday 22nd June. An extremely important day!!! (Keep reading for more info).
*A quick wrap up :– Tuesday night a “Bobby Dazzler” 2 courts of dazzling tennis; Wednesday night a wash out; Thursday night as above; Saturday morning a full house; Saturday afternoon had to be seen to believe. Can’t name all the players who played during the week but here are a few …. Tim, Scott, Susan, Yanis, Tony, Val, Elena Tanja.
*Coaching News – Learning to “lob” was the task this week.
*A SPECIAL DAY….. “b kinder day” In this day age, it is so so important to be kind to others. One kind word can make a difference in a person’s day and life, and we all have the power to do this – so let’s get the ball rolling and keep it rolling!!!!!

A Big welcome back to Tony enjoying the beaut tennis weather; Wednesday night was enthusiastic and ready for action; Saturday morning and afternoon played glittering tennis!! There’s a shortcut to friendship that’s created when you play tennis with someone”. This is a pic of great tennis mates Willem, Gerda , Lynton and Barbara. A tennis friendship that has grown over six years through their passion for tennis. It’s not about hitting winners; it’s about spending quality time together on a tennis court!! Lynton and Barbara come north every year and every year catch up on a Wednesday for a game. A tribute to a true friendship!!!
