Almost there. Make sure you are Whitsunday Sportspark to witness an amazing day of rugby.
Our men are aiming for three grand final victories in a row - an amazing achievement within their grasp.
After coming close twice in recent years, the women's team is looking to cap off an unbeaten season with a final victory.
Past players are welcome to join in tunnelling our women onto the field for their 3:15 kick off against the Bowen Jennies.
Wear green and purple and cheer loudly for our teams.

The Raiders women along with their Mackay Women’s Stingers teammates, represented themselves, their club, and Mackay Rugby Union with pride over the weekend. Six MRU players announced in the CQ Bushrangers team for the upcoming Queensland Country Rugby Union championships in June. Particular congratulations to Kyahne, Maddy, Penny, and Chelsie for being named in the CQ team and to Isabella, Kendra, and Lily for playing with our open women and being selected in the CQ u18s.

We are back for 2025!
Head down to Whitsunday Sportspark this Thursday (23/1) at 5:30 for a meet and greet. Find out what opportunities lay ahead for girls and women aged 12-102.
No previous experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun with a great bunch of like minded women (and a token bloke).
Full training will begin the following week.

A big shout out to the Queensland Country Orchids and our very own Kyahne Smail, who is smashing it as part of the team.

Also, safe travels to our CQ u17 7s representatives, Isabelle and Lily, who are off to their first training camp in the lead up to the Queensland Rugby State Champs in November.

Training for juniors continues at 5pm on Wednesdays, with upcoming games against Bowen Rugby and a trip out to Emerald for the Liz Alexander Cup this month. Ages 10-18 are welcome to come and have a try. No experience required.

A massive congratulations to Leshara Costello for scoring her first ever try in girls rugby. Not yet 12 and playing u13s, she looked deadly with ball in hand, showed great tackling technique, and displayed what will develop into an excellent rugby brain.

Training this week, 530 Wednesay & 430 Thursday, with games in Mackay on Saturday. Girls 10-18 welcome, with no experience required.

Unfortunately someone remembered the memory card but not the camera to put it in, so this is the best we have.

A huge congratulations to our women players, to see your game come from a hit and miss sevens group of games to a 10 a side grand final is awesome, it has been a pleasure to be involved and to watch it grow over the years. You have to lose grand finals to find that drive to win, keep the spirit, see you next season

In 2019, a podcast led to a conversation between a couple of coaches, which led to the establishment of Whitsunday Raiders Junior girls rugby. Due to the growth and simply aging of that group, including players in the wider Mackay Rugby Union, in 2022 the first attempt was made to establish a women's comp. In 2024, we see the first full season of Women's rugby running parallel to the men's competition.

This time next Saturday, the Raiders W team will be preparing to take on Slade Point in the MRU grand final at BB Print stadium. Our team will include 7 players that have come through our junior system, with some having been part of it since that first training session in 2019. It is the culmination of the support that has been given to our girls and women's programs over that entire time.

So, thank you to every player who has ever turned up to be a Raider. To every coach and manager that has kept things going over the years. To the support our wider community has shown us. Those that take the field next Saturday do so on the back of all that effort. Thank you.

These photos certainly do not capture everything, but are a selection that hopefully pays a small tribute to every Raider. We hope to see you next week at BB Print. Kick off is at 3pm.

Up the mighty Raiders!
