is powerlifting a little homo???
My face when someone says Powerlifting is too intimidating: 🤣😆
Meanwhile, my clients are out here hitting PRs, hyping each other up between attempts and having the time of their lives on the platform.
Intimidating isn’t the word I’d use - I’d say empowering, chaotic, community-filled and FUN.
Competing doesn’t have to be scary when you have the right people in your corner.
An experienced coach who walks you through your openers, discusses the plan, who knows what your next attempt is going to be before you do, someone who is also hyping you the f**k up between attempts.
That’s the difference between actually enjoying your comp day experience.
Have you seen my clients on comp day? Nervous, sure, but also laughing, having a great time, high-fiving and encouraging other lifters and making new friends.
You can show up for yourself to hit some PRs on the platform and also show up to encourage other people in the community.
Ready to see what your first meet could look like? DM me “FUN” and let’s talk about it
More training days isn’t going to PB your lifts
I wrote a post the other week about my client Lauren who reducing her training days from 4 to 3 days.
Her training was inconsistent - one week hitting all 4 sessions, then the next 3 days then the following week 2 days. Within a 4-week block, she was hitting 8 out of 16 sessions.
I did the maths on what a 3-day split would look like at 100% adherence with an average of 3 sets of 10 reps across 4 exercises.
👉🏼 5,760 more reps per year just by getting that extra session in 👈🏼
😮
Imagine the type of progress you’d make from that!!
I understand that reducing days can be difficult, but there’s no point in chasing your tail trying to make progress when you’re not even consistent enough in the gym anyway.
What will PB your lifts is the consistency you’ll get by reducing your training days because you will:
✅ Track your progress better
✅ Get stupidly strong
✅ Look better
✅ Feel better
And there’s no point in telling yourself you HAVE to do “X” training days when it’s actually limiting you and your potential
Sick of going to the gym trying to make gains with nothing to show for it? Reach out for coaching

UIS Powerlifting Team Group Photo 💪🏼
(Just missing Vanessa + Amanda, who had to leave early)
Everyone who competed had a perfect day and this wasn’t a huge surprise or happened at random. Everyone had their own plan of attack for the day that was determined by their overall goal and how they wanted to feel walking away, and they all executed it perfectly.
There’s no guesswork to their success on the platform. Just a structured prep with a coach in their corner that knows a thing or two about lifting.
🏋🏻♀️ - Amanda, Rhiannon and Lydia competed in a 3-lift, going 8/9, 9/9 and another 9/9 with Amanda podiuming for Second Place Overall and getting a trophy 🏆
🏋🏻♀️ - Bianca and Isobel competed in Bench Only, going 3/3 and 2/3 with Bianca receiving a First Place Bench Only medal 🥇
🏋🏻♀️ - Vanessa competed in Deadlift Only, going 3/3 and receiving a First Place Deadlift Only Medal 🥇
The team combined lifted 1,080kg across their final attempts of the day!! Talk about a stupidly strong group of women!
I’m proud of every single one of them for showing up, doing their absolute best, coming away with a great performance and cheering on for everyone else who competed on the day!
If you’re no longer wanting to second guess your openers and walk onto the platform hoping that your attempts hold up, then reach out for coaching.
You deserve a dialled-in, structured prep that shows off the hard work you put in.

Want to work with me? My books are open ⬇️
I’ve coached hundreds of women through the years with similar struggles - seasoned lifters who were stuck on generic templates, second guessing their technique and nutrition and wondering why they’re not making any progress.
The system I use to get my clients stupidly strong and hitting PBs they’ve been waiting years for isn’t a guess.
This is a proven system, refined over the years that takes women from “strongish” to stupidly strong and feeling the best they’ve ever felt without sacrificing their life and making training their full time job.
They train with intent, lift the heavy barbells, hit PBs, get jacked along the way and feel amazing whilst continuing to have a social life they enjoy.
If you’re wanting to work with me, I offer:
🌐 Online Coaching for the women who are serious about getting stupid strong, PBing their lifts and getting jacked from anywhere in the world.
🏋️♀️ F2F Coaching out of BUILT. Strength + Conditioning ADL. for the women who are wanting support and accountability in person with their pursuit of getting stupid strong, PBing their lifts and getting jacked in between yaps 💪🏼
