Today 8 of our paddlers attended the first mini-Auroras-selection-camp in Melbourne.

It's already a great achievement to be get to this stage.

Accepting the challenge, working hard to achieve the benchmarking requirements and put yourself out there to be weighed, measured, tested and observed - that's already admirable.

The day was amazing! Not only were the weather gods smiling, but everything ran smoothly, the volunteers and coaches did an exceptional job and the spirit reflected what the Auroras stand for - one heart, one soul, one team, one goal 💚💛💚

Thank you Dragonboat Victoria for your support! 💙🖤💙

Training in winter might be challenging - the more important it is to stay connected off the water. "A taste of Greece" is one of the great fun activities we enjoy together 🇬🇷💙🖤💙💚

This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate the enduring connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country, waters, culture and community.

For tens of thousands of years, rivers, lakes and oceans have been places of life, learning, ceremony and connection. As paddlers, we are fortunate to spend time on these waterways and with that comes a responsibility to respect and care for them.

This week, we encourage our dragon boating community to take a moment to reflect on the Traditional Custodians of the waterways where you paddle, learn about their stories and appreciate the deep cultural connections that continue today.

You don't need to be paddling on an elite level to feel your body stiffening and hurting, we all know that.

How lucky we are to have Natalie Feil with us! She is running her "Whole Body Integration" clinic now from 411 Magill Rd, St. Morris. Norman was just lucky enough to get a home treatment😉

Call her on 0409 090 502 or check out her website https://wholebodyintegration.net.au to make a booking 💙🖤💙💚

Jen Letts Memorial Award - Volunteer of the year

Jen passed away nine years ago on April 25, but she is still remembered fondly by so many. 🌻

In 2005–2006, Jen joined Adelaide Survivors as a breast cancer survivor. She and her husband joined the Sea Dragons in 2009, and she paddled for several years, including competing at the World Club Crew Championships in Macau in 2010.

After she finished paddling, Jen volunteered wherever she was needed. You never had to ask her twice—she was always willing to help. She was always up for a laugh, a friend to everyone, and never afraid to call a spade a spade.
Jen is missed by many and remembered with great affection. ❤️

This award goes to Manuela Voss - Congratulations! 💐
