The day before a big meet: keep it simple.
The goal isn’t to do more — it’s to prepare your body and mind to perform.
A light swim with a few race-specific efforts, plenty of hydration, familiar foods, time to relax, and as much quality sleep as possible.
Rest. Recover. Rehydrate. Refuel. Prepare.
Then it’s time to race.
What’s your non-negotiable routine the day before a big meet?

We get a lot of sales through our swim academy shop that are purchased as presents for young, up and coming swimmers. As we (Kyle and Ingie) are currently overseas and handling all the sales ourselves, we offer free personalised video messages to send as a teaser and we will send the hoodies/books/swim caps AS SOON as we are home 🙏🏽
Thank you everyone for continuing to support our dream of impacting aspiring athletes the best way we can!

Your brain is always listening.
The words you repeat become the beliefs you carry.
Before your next race, pay attention to your self-talk.
Are you speaking like a supporter?
Or a critic?
The way you speak to yourself matters.
Train it daily.

Race day starts in the mind.
The swimmers who perform best aren’t always the least nervous.
They’re the ones who know where to place their attention.
Focus on what you can control.
Use your nerves as fuel.
Measure success by more than just the clock.
Your mindset can either work for you or against you.

One of the biggest mindset shifts athletes can make:
You are not supposed to feel motivated all the time.
The best athletes still have hard days.
They just learn how to keep moving forward through them.
Discipline, routines, and consistency will take you further than motivation alone ever will.

Motivation isn’t random.
It’s built through habits, environment, and direction.
The athletes who stay motivated long-term usually:
✔️ Have clear goals
✔️ Celebrate progress
✔️ Surround themselves with good people
Build habits that support your drive, not just short bursts of inspiration.

Motivation is important, but understanding it is even more important.
The swimmers who stay in the sport and improve long-term are the ones who:
✔️ Build routines
✔️ Stay in their own lane
✔️ Keep going through difficult periods
Progress isn’t always exciting.
But consistency compounds over time.
