It’s getting to that time of the year again- the Gaelic Football season is around the corner! Our season generally runs from October-March (exact start date and end to be finalised).
Teams in South Australia are generally a mix of both Irish expats and Australians/ other nationalities, who often take up the game as adults. So, if you’ve played your whole life and looking to meet people through sport in Adelaide, played years ago and want to pick it up again, or play Australian Rules, soccer, rugby, netball, another sport or none at all and fancy giving it a go, get in touch with the clubs below, as most are looking for players at this time of the year.
Team contacts are as follows (clubs with pages can generally be messaged direct):

Our South Australian players are doing everyone proud in the Australasia Gaelic Games men's and ladies squads in the World Games. Both have qualified for their respective Division 1 Cup knock out stages (the highest competition in the World Games).
The men are into the quarter finals at 9.30am Irish time vs France with the ladies in the semi final at 12. If the men win their quarter final, they will also be in a semi final at 12.

After two days of World GAA games at SETU Arena Waterford, the Australasia Gaelic Games teams are flying high, with both teams in second place in their groups.
In the men's competition, they have won four of their five games and sit just two points behind their group leaders. They are well placed to qualify for the quarter/ semi finals on Thursday.
Our ladies team are currently unbeaten with four wins and a draw. They sit level on points and are just behind the group leaders on scoring difference, who they meet now on day three.
As South Australia provides the most players to the non-Irish born Australasian teams, we're proud of the way they are flying the flag for the state and the Gaelic Football & Hurling Association of South Australia .
