‘Tonight, at 6pm, I got shot.’

Some heavy words from Shaun today before this morning’s session.

Today marks 5 years since an attempt was made on Shaun’s life, having his eyes blown out with a saw-off shotgun, and the moment that he’d lose his sight forever and live in darkness for the rest of his life.

It’s sad, it’s painful, it’s horrific and it’s unfair.

But…it was meant to be.

In and out of jail, extreme drug abuse, wreckless living and a constant threat to both himself and those around him. Before losing his sight, Shaun was dangerous and living on the brink of a life sentence or death.

And now…it’s all gone.

All of it.

The drugs, the jail, the lifestyle, the violence. Finished.

He lost his sight, yet found his life.

Lives in darkness, but is engulfed by light.

Cannot see, but feels everything.

Stopped serving satan and was baptised into Christ☦️

This Monday, Shaun goes to Brazil to compete in the 2026 IBSA Judo Grand Prix, coming off the back of another Judo trip to Kazakhstan in May, with Georgia and Egypt on the cards before the close of 2026.

Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine leading a clean life that would give him so many incredible opportunities.

Few will know how much hard work it takes to come from where he was to where he is, but some of us know, we see it bro.

Keep it up Shaun, this is just the beginning.

There's never a 'good' time to do anything.

I wont open a business because the economy is bad.

I wont have kids until my finances are sorted.

I wont get married because we need to buy a house first.

I wont start training until time frees up and I can commit.

The list goes on.

We find ourselves in a perpetual analysis paralysis and nothing gets done.

Or it eventually gets done, but with far too much life wasted.

There's too many options and too many distractions.

An excessive acquisition of information and not enough implementation.

Theres no perfect time, it doesnt exist, you gotta make it happen.

You gotta do.

We've become master procrastinators.

To keep it relevant, dont wait for the 'perfect' time to jump out at you to start training.

So many people let weeks, months, years past, unhappy with their health and fitness. Mentally and physically.

Just do it, man.
