π‘ THURSDAY TRAINER'S TIP π‘
β±οΈ SLOW DOWN YOUR REPS FOR MAXIMUM RETURNS β±οΈ
When it comes to getting stronger, it's not always about lifting heavierβit's about lifting smarter.
One of the most effective ways to increase muscle growth and improve technique is to slow down your repetitions.
By controlling every phase of the movement, you increase time under tension, allowing your muscles to work harder throughout the entire exercise.
Why slow reps work:
β
Increase muscle activation
β
Improve strength and muscle control
β
Enhance exercise technique
β
Reduce the risk of injury
β
Get more from every repetition
πͺ Try this tempo:
β¬οΈ Lower the weight for 3 seconds
βΈοΈ Pause for 1 second
β¬οΈ Lift the weight in 2 seconds
π₯ Squeeze the muscle for 1 second at the top
You'll be surprised how much more challengingβand rewardingβyour workout becomes when you focus on quality over speed.
At EFM Glenelg, we're all about training with purpose. Slow down, stay in control and make every rep count.
π Have you ever tried slowing your reps? Tell us in the comments if you're ready to give it a go at your next session!
