Memorial Service for Anna Knoll

Following our recent tribute to the late Anna Knoll, we would like to advise friends and, members of the German community, and all whose lives were touched by Anna that her memorial service will be held on:

St Bonifatius Church
17 North East Road, Collinswood

Monday, 10 August

Anna will be remembered with great affection and gratitude for her lifelong contribution to her family, the German and Bavarian communities of South Australia, and the legacy she and Hans helped create through their unwavering support of community organisations.

Anna's family invites those who knew Anna to join in celebrating her life and paying their respects.

Our thoughts remain with Hans, the Knoll family, and all who mourn her passing.

Ruhe in Frieden, Anna.

🚛💙 Our new Bund der Bayern trailer has arrived! 💙🚛

We're proud to unveil our new equipment trailer, featuring a bold Bavarian design that will be hard to miss at community events across South Australia!

The trailer will help us safely and efficiently transport tables, benches, gazebos, barbecues, games, and other equipment needed for community events such as Hüttenzauber, Herbstfest, Adelaide German Week, and many other cultural and family activities throughout the year.

Importantly, this trailer is not just for Bund der Bayern. We regularly collaborate with many multicultural and community organisations, and fellow community groups are welcome to contact us if they would like to explore using the trailer for their events and activities. Working together helps us build a stronger and more connected multicultural community in South Australia.

We sincerely thank Multicultural Affairs SA for supporting this project through the Expand Together Grants Program. Their investment in community equipment helps organisations like ours continue to bring people together, celebrate cultural diversity, and create opportunities for connection across South Australia.

What an incredible day at Hüttenzauber yesterday!

The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, with so many German-speaking families coming together to celebrate, catch up with friends, and enjoy a true taste of German-speaking Europe in the Adelaide Hills.

A huge thank you to our wonderful stallholders who helped make the event so special:

🇩🇪 Dennis from Baltic Fine Food, who once again brought not only his delicious products but also his iconic Trabbi, which proved a popular attraction throughout the day.

🍷 Brenton, Kirsti and their family from Glühwein Hütte, who kept everyone warm and cheerful with their delicious Glühwein and welcoming hospitality throughout the day.

🍰 Guni from Oma's Imbiss & Kuchen, keeping visitors well fed and supplied with delicious homemade treats.

🇨🇭 The Swiss Club of South Australia, who kept everyone warm with roasted Maroni and offered their famous telescopic Würstli-Brätelisteckli for those wanting to roast sausages Swiss-style.

🔥 Anna from Simply Flammekueche, who celebrated her very last Flammekueche event. After years of delighting customers with authentic Flammekueche, Anna is closing the business, having sold both the ovens and the van. We thank her for her dedication and wish her all the very best for the future.

☕ Tanja from Wine Angels Australia, whose hot chocolate was selling like hot potatoes and proved incredibly popular throughout the day.

🎨 Lena and Ayla, who worked their face-painting magic and brought smiles to countless children's faces.

🎶 Corinna and Rojan from Corinna's Voice whose live music created the perfect soundtrack for the event.

We are also immensely grateful to the Adelaide Hills Council for their financial support, helping make this community event possible.

A special thank you to Uncle Mickey for his warm and meaningful Welcome to Country.

We were honoured to welcome many distinguished guests and VIPs, including:
• The Hon. Hilton Gumbys MLC, representing The Hon. Nadia Clancy MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs
• The Hon. Tung Ngo MLC
• Josh Teague - Member for Heysen, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Member for Heysen
• Nathan Daniell - Mayor of Adelaide Hills Council, Mayor of the Adelaide Hills Council
• As well as many other distinguished guests who joined us throughout the day.

We would also like to thank Multicultural Affairs SA for their ongoing support, including a recent grant that enabled us to purchase our new branded trailer. We are incredibly excited about this addition and look forward to making it available, free of charge, for our community to use whenever needed, provided they are brave enough to be seen with its wonderfully bold Bavarian design!

A massive thank you goes to all our volunteers. Events like this simply would not happen without your dedication and hard work. A particular shout-out goes to Axel, who expertly managed the event throughout the day and ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Unfortunately, we were far too busy enjoying the event and keeping things running to take many photos ourselves, so for now we are only sharing a few random snapshots. Many more professional photos will follow soon, courtesy of Ahsan from Proshots by AQ.

Finally, thank you to every single person who attended. Whether you came for the food, the music, the community spirit, or simply to enjoy a winter's day out, you helped make Hüttenzauber ‘26 a truly memorable event.
