Thanks to everyone who came along to this weekend mini rereat!
It was wonderful to have the community come together to practice, including a very restful Sunday afternoon pranayama session.
As we move back into our regular weekly routine, we look forward to seeing you in class.

What is your favorite Saturday afternoon hangout?
We enjoyed hanging upside down in the wall ropes, or "rope sirsasana"!
A wonderful way of being inverted without weight baring, for getting length in the spine and trunk, for head and neck release, for improving circulation and quieten the mind and nervous system. It is accessible when fatigued.

Urdhva Dhanurasana over the back of chair. Working with different backbending asana this week.
"For a yogi, backbends are meant to invert the mind, to observe and to feelโfirst the back, then the consciousness and the very seer. Through the practice of backbends, by using the senses of perception to look back, and drawing the mind to the back portion of the body, one day meditation comes naturally.
In other poses, the attention on the back is not given to such an extent and the mind moves outside. Backbends have principles of their own and learning the workings of the mind and intelligence in backbends naturally leads one towards the real aspects of life and the higher aspects of yoga." B.K.S.
