CARLY REHBEIN – 50 GAMES 🔴⚪️

Tomorrow, our women’s captain Carly Rehbein runs out for her 50th senior game for the Woody Cats! 🐾

Reaching 50 senior games is always a huge achievement in women’s football, and there’s no one more deserving. A tough midfielder and forward, Carly may be small in stature, but she plays with strength, composure and quick decision-making. She leads by example every week, setting the standard with her passion, effort and commitment to the team.

Teammate Liana summed Carly up perfectly:

“Carly brought the energy and the vibes from the moment she walked through the doors. When Carly is up, everyone is up. She’s confident, knowledgeable and a natural leader, while off the field she’s genuine, reliable, supportive and someone everyone loves being around.”

Coach Ben credits Carly as the reason he coaches the women’s team:

“She’s the reason I’m coaching the women’s team. She cares about others and always puts the team first. She’s genuine, measured and logical, a deep footy thinker, but above all an all-round ripping human!”

Congratulations on 50 games, Carly. Thank you for your leadership, your passion, and everything you continue to give to the Woody Cats. ❤️🤍

🌸 ROUND 12 | LADIES DAY 🌸

A change-up in times and locations this weekend as we celebrate one of the biggest days on our calendar – Ladies Day!

Our Women’s A Grade gets the day underway at 10:15am on home soil, before our Men’s Reserves and A Grade take over David Reid Homes Oval.

Meanwhile, our C Grade hits the road for a 12:15pm clash against Salisbury.

Highlights from the Men's B Grade game against Eastern Park on Indigenous Round. Our boys were strong all day against the Demon's, showing a lot of grit and teamwork winning by 67 points. 🔴⚪

The notable feature of the game was club icon and regular by the bar, Conor O'Regan, who celebrated his 250th game for the Woodville South Football Club. He capped off his milestone game with a clever goal in the dying seconds.

Highlights from our Women's Game for Indigenous Round vs Edwardstown. The Indigenous Round Guernsey, thoughtfully designed by player and Cats Favourite Phyllis Noble, was proudly on display throughout the day, culminating in the Main Event under lights. 🖤💛🔴

The girls battled all day against stiff opposition but were not able to come away with the win.

What a special Indigenous Round our mighty club celebrated last weekend. Seeing all of our teams wearing the gear, designed by Phyllis from our Women's Team, was a sight to be seen. 🖤💛🔴

It was even more surreal to have both Woodville South and Eastern Park Football Clubs come together for the Smoking Ceremony pre-game, warding off bad spirits and offering protection to all of our Men's and Women's players for the day. 🔴⚪🔴⚫

Even better to have our three men's team all walk away with hard fought wins whilst sadly our Women's team fell short.

Next Friday…

CONOR O’REGAN – 250 GAMES 🔴⚪️

Tomorrow we celebrate an incredible milestone as Conor O’Regan runs out for his 250th game for the Cats!

Conor embodies what it means to be a Woody Cat. A dedicated player, loyal teammate and lifelong friend to many, he’s the sort of person who makes everyone feel welcome the moment they walk through the doors. While 250 games is an outstanding achievement, it’s the countless hours he gives back to the club that make this milestone even more special. Whether it’s volunteering behind the bar, cooking the BBQ, serving on the committee, or marking the oval every week, Conor is always there doing whatever the club needs.

Long-time Cat and mate Ramah summed him up in classic fashion:

“As a player, he plays like a young Gary Ablett Jr. (he thinks so). As a clubman, he would do anything for the club.”

Fellow 2026 leader and lifelong teammate Tom reflected on Conor’s journey:

“Conor and I have played football together since we were about four years old. His career peaked early — Under 8s and Under 9s he was a genuine force. Sadly, he stopped growing around then too, which was a harsh but important plot twist.

He’s since reinvented himself into the footballer we know today — a silky outside operator with clean skills, blistering pace, and the rare ability to avoid a contested ball like it owes him money. His footy brain is only slightly sharper than his wit, which has been causing damage around the club for years.

He’s a captain, a much-loved teammate, always good for a joke, always good for a beer, and always there for the boys. A great mate, a great clubman, and a very deserving 250-game player.”

Congratulations, Conor, on an incredible 250 games. Thank you for everything you continue to do for the Woody Cats. ❤️
