COLIN MUSCARA – 100 GAMES 🔴⚪️

Today we celebrate Colin Muscara as he runs out for his 100th game for the Cats! 🐾

A strong inside midfielder who loves the contest and winning the hard ball, Colin has also spent plenty of time punching above his weight as an undersized ruckman. Tough, selfless and willing to play whatever role the team needs.

Off the field, Colin is just as valuable. The ultimate “I’ve got a guy” bloke, there’s always something on the go — and whatever you need, chances are Colin knows someone. More importantly, he genuinely invests in the success of the club. Behind the bar, on the BBQ, in the changerooms or out on the field, he’s always willing to contribute. The kind of bloke who gets invited to Sponsors Day to be thanked for his support… and still turns up for his BBQ shift.

Teammates describes him as:

“Tough, selfless and always willing to do whatever the team needs. A great mate and a genuinely important part of the group. Absolutely hates kicking the footy — he’d handball it 40 metres if he could. And doesn’t mind disappearing mid-season for a trip to Tomorrowland.”

An amazing teammate, clubman and mate — when he’s actually in the country. 😂

ALEX BEHRNDT – 150 GAMES 🔴⚪️

Today we celebrate Alex Behrndt - AB- as he runs out for his 150th game for the Woody Cats! 🐾

A solid and dependable defender, AB has been a consistent presence in the red and white for many years. A leader across both our Reserves and A Grade sides, he’s always willing to go the extra step for his teammates on the field and for his club off it.

Head Coach Mick Kilsby says:

“AB is a true team first player and a bloke who represents everything you want in a clubman. He’s selfless, always willing to play his role and puts the team before himself.

He gives plenty back off the field too, helping around the club and on the committee. As a player, he’s reliable, strong over the footy and uses his great kicking to his advantage.

150 games is a fantastic milestone and a great reward for a bloke who has given so much to the club. Congratulations on 150”

Whether you’ve worn the jumper, volunteered behind the scenes or cheered from the boundary for decades, we’d love to see you back at David Reid Homes Oval.

🏅 ODGERS ARMSTRONG SPIRIT MEDAL 🏅

Past Players Day – Saturday, August 8

For many of our past players, the Odgers Armstrong Spirit Medal is a proud tradition that represents everything it means to wear the red and white. For our newer players and supporters, it's a chance to learn about one of the most meaningful honours our club presents.

The medal is named in memory of Gary Odgers and Morgan Armstrong—two remarkable Cats who embodied the values that have shaped Woodville South Football Club for generations. Although they made their mark on the field through their talent, leadership and commitment, it was their courage, resilience and character, particularly in the face of illness, that left a lasting legacy on our club.

Presented by our Past Players, the Odgers Armstrong Spirit Medal is awarded each year to one A Grade footballer who best reflects the qualities that Gary and Morgan lived every game.

This award isn't simply for the best player on the day. It recognises the footballer who represents the true spirit of Woodville South—someone who leads by example, supports their teammates, plays with pride, and gives everything for the jumper.

On Past Players Day, we celebrate our history, honour those who built our club, and recognise the player carrying those values forward today.

PAST PLAYERS - JOIN US THIS SATURDAY!

Fancy yourself a superstar or just wanting to get down to some Shania - The Groove are back in town next Saturday night for our Karaoke Night.

Supported by a live band and singer, sing your heart out to cult classics such as eagle rock or slow the pace down with a romantic ballad.

Anyone who came last year knows the night is one not to miss whether you can sing or not.

Entry for non-members by purchasing a meat tray raffle ticket on the night for $10. Members encouraged to get in on the action too.

Wake up on Sunday with a chance of no voice but a healthy meat tray in your fridge.
