Some good and not so good news from this week.

After running out of talent riding the Pickstock Racing KTM450 (aka “the incident”) resulted in multiple fractures in the cuff of my left humerus on the 17th May, I was finally discharged from hospital outpatient care last Wednesday.

The latest advice from the specialist is that the bone will still take another 12 to 18 weeks to fully heal.

Despite a crack from one side to the other and another small triangular piece (forcibly) migrating itself deeper into the bone, everything is heading in the right direction and, importantly, at this stage I don’t require surgery or further treatment.

The next chapter is 12 weeks of fairly intensive physiotherapy to get movement and strength back into the shoulder.

Unfortunately, that timeline pretty much rules Adam and I out of the remaining two rounds of the 2026 MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship, the MSS Safety Rally Barossa and the UME Adelaide Hills Rally in October.

Arm is still on the mend, very slow process.
Still got at least 12-14 weeks of rehab and regaining strength to go.

I injured the same shoulder some 35yrs ago… another moto x incident.

Not bad tho, 30+ year between hospital visits!
