2026 AFL FINALS – TICKETING INFORMATION
With Semi Final weekend locked in and Preliminary Finals just around the corner, here’s what you need to know about ticketing over the next few days — including member on-sales and Grand Final ballot information.
SEMI FINAL 1 – FREMANTLE v GEELONG
Optus Stadium
Friday 11 September
6:10pm AWST / 8:10pm AEST
Tickets on sale Monday 7 September
Club Members: 10am–2pm AWST
General Public: 3pm AWST
Some membership categories have different priority windows. Gold and Silver AFL Members with nominated club support, for example, have Priority 1 access from 10am AWST and Priority 2 from 11am AWST.
Tickets are through Ticketmaster.
Geelong members purchasing through the club member pre-sale will need their 12-digit membership barcode. There is a limit of one ticket per eligible member barcode, with up to 10 tickets per transaction.
Important: Geelong and Fremantle member barcodes cannot be combined in the same transaction.
SEMI FINAL 2 – BRISBANE v ADELAIDE
The Gabba
Saturday 12 September
7:35pm AEST
Tickets on sale Monday 7 September
Club Members: 10am–2pm AEST
General Public: 3pm AEST
Gold and Silver AFL Members with club support again have Priority 1 access from 10am AEST and Priority 2 from 11am AEST.
Tickets are through Ticketmaster.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The winner of Brisbane v Adelaide will progress to face Hawthorn in a Preliminary Final.
The winner of Fremantle v Geelong will progress to face Sydney in the other Preliminary Final.
Preliminary Final ticketing dates and times will be announced once those fixtures are confirmed.
HAWTHORN AND SYDNEY SWANS FANS:
GRAND FINAL BALLOT INFORMATION
Supporters of clubs still alive in the Finals should also start preparing for potential 2026 AFL Grand Final member ballots.
Grand Final tickets allocated to competing club members are generally distributed through a ballot rather than a normal first-in-best-dressed sale.
This means registering at 9:00am rather than later within your allocated registration window does not improve your position in the ballot.
Each club has its own registration windows and priority groups, so check your club's official Finals information carefully.
Sydney members: Grand Final ballot registration is scheduled for Wednesday 9 September, 9am–6pm AEST for all priority groups.
Members must select the correct priority group when registering. Selecting the wrong group can affect your priority.
Hawthorn members: Eligible members should also check their club's Grand Final registration instructions, including their allocated Priority Group and registration window. Members registering together generally need to register in the same transaction and should have all required membership barcodes ready beforehand.
Registration in a Grand Final ballot does not guarantee a ticket. If your club qualifies and your ballot application is successful, the nominated payment card will generally be charged automatically.
BE PREPARED
Before any member sale or ballot:
Have your membership barcode(s) ready.
Check that your membership is eligible and fully paid/up to date.
Know your correct priority group.
Make sure your Ticketmaster/Ticketek account details are current.
Check your nominated card has sufficient funds and won't expire.
If buying or registering as a group, have everyone's eligible barcodes ready before the sale or registration begins.
TIXMATES REMINDER
Never post your membership barcode publicly. Treat it like a password — someone with access to it may potentially use your ticketing entitlement.
Ticket availability for Finals is limited and demand will be extremely high. Always double-check information supplied directly by your club, the AFL and the relevant ticketing agency before purchasing.
Good luck to everyone chasing tickets this week. TixMates will keep the community updated as Preliminary Final and Grand Final ticketing information becomes available.
Should anybody require any assistance or have any questions, please send us a message regarding any information.

03/09/2026
Hey everybody!
We thought we would drop one of these up given its a very busy time and everybody is trying to get to the footy over the Finals Series.
Below is a conversation with someone claiming to sell seats to the footy, and is quite clearly a fake account just making it up on the spot. We will dot point some of the red flags below, keep in mind while some of them may be considered easily triggered / sensitive flags to look for, it will go a long way to prevent you all getting scammed.
~Asking how much you're willing to pay and taking a best offer
~"Open to negotiating" after $150 had been agreed on (This isn't nomal)
~"I would love to help a fellow fan" is not how footy fans talk to each other 2 minutes into a conversation, especially saying "Fellow fan" this is borderline broken English given the context
~"I'll transferring via directly to your ticketet account" - Broken English
~"Do you have an email for receiving the both tickets" - Broken English
~Sob story about a sister fracturing a leg and being flown out for surgery? Ask yourself how likely it is that all that happened between Monday and now and consider how far fetched that sounds. Especially when again, a price had already been agreed upon and sorted, and this person is still trying to sob story their way into you saying yes, even though the buyer here already had
~Where the seller had put in the first / last name and email address. For anybody who has Ticketek, this isn't what it looks like on Ticketek, this should be an immediate red flag. If you arent sure what the page looks like on Ticketek, go to an existing ticket and press "Share ticket" to see the page it comes up with
~"We can actually make a deal for you" paragraph: This is desperation by a scammer, and nobody in their right mind should be dying to only want half of your money in a sh*tty attempt to gain your trust. Occasionally doing it ticket by ticket is one thing, but if you want to play it safe, this isn't it, plus the hands praying emoji, and the language used in this paragraph is again broken English.
~This one is a classic one, using the word "payment" and "making payment" these are over the top formal ways of organizing a bank transfer and again is broken English at worst, and over the top formal at best in a way that it doesn't sound right, and often enough you'll find it sound off because the seller is off.
~emails provided by the seller for PayID full of numbers where the email is clearly just a made up email for scamming purposes that would be taken down quickly after they scam you.
~To cap it all off, the final screenshot asking where M19 is and if its members or MCC etc, anyone who knows the MCG well, knows that M19 is AFL reserve, not club members, so this was just us catching them out red handed in a bu****it.
If anybody has any other questions about anyone they come across, you are all welcome to message us with screenshots of conversations and we can help look for red flags for you!
