๐ Phoenix Target Rifle Club Night Shoot Test Run ๐
Earlier this month, Phoenix Target Rifle Club held a successful night-shoot test run at the 900m range, with 21 shooters taking part across a range of disciplines.
After sighting in while there was still daylight, competitors enjoyed a BBQ before heading out to begin the night shoot. Despite an uncertain weather forecast, the rain held off long enough for everyone to complete two rounds.
PTRC has sent out a huge thank you to everyone involved in planning, setting up and supporting the evening - including those who supplied generators, lighting, gazebos and other equipment โ what a great club effort.
There were some excellent results, including possible scores by Leanne Dunn in F Open and Nathan Mann in PCO. And, in true Phoenix spirit, discipline winners received a free drink, while the lowest scorer in each discipline took home a carrot to help with their night vision! ๐ฅ๐
Well done to PTRC on a great initiative and a successful test run.

๐ฏ A strong showing from South Australiaโs Under 25 team in Brisbane!
Our U25 team shot exceptionally well across all ranges, representing South Australia with skill, commitment and fantastic team spirit.
A special acknowledgement also goes to the three SA members who rotated through the QLD team when they were short a shooter. Their contribution helped secure several trophies and aggregate wins - an excellent example of sportsmanship and support for fellow competitors. ๐
Well done to all involved. We are very proud of the way you represented South Australia!

How good is this SA! 3rd place in the open team and how about the 2nd place in the u25โs!
Awesome effort!
What a day it has been at the National TR Teams Matches with 4 ranges: 300, 600, 900 and 1000 yards. Queensland took the gong on the first 3 ranges and NSW at the 1000 yards. The late charge by NSW was not quite enough with Queensland taking the Merrett Match by 4 points. https://shooting.hexsystems.com.au/competition/monitor/701
The U25's also saw Queensland take the West Australian Match with a solid win over South Australia and NSW.

๐ฅ Australia takes bronze at the VII F-Class World Championships!
Huge congratulations to the Australian F-Open Team, led by Captain Craig McGowan, on an outstanding bronze-medal performance at Bisley. Across two demanding days at 800, 900 and 1000 yards, the team recorded a total of
3456.322v against the worldโs best.
Karen Conlon (we know her! ๐) was Australiaโs standout performer through the team stages, while every member of the squad delivered when it counted on one of the sportโs most challenging ranges.
The Australian FTR Team, captained by Nicola Slee, also put in a determined performance to finish fifth in an exceptionally competitive field. Daniel Galea was the highest-placed Australian firer across the FTR team competition.
Representing Australia on the world stage is a massive achievement. Coming home with a bronze medal? Just makes it all the more special. Both teams should be enormously proud, and we can't wait to see our local legends to say well done!
Congratulations to every member of the Australian F-Class Team โค

Congratulations to every shooter selected to wear the South Australian colours. We wish the team and its officials safe travels, good shooting and every success at Belmont. โค
