MPCC Bunnings Sausage Sizzle 2026
15 club volunteers braved some pretty diabilocal weather yesterday for our inaugral Bunnings Sausage Sizzle - which despite the rain and generally miserable conditions, turned out to be a raging success.
We ended up clearing $1831 in sales, an amazing result and a great way to begin season 2026/27.
Many thanks to all our volunteers who braved the arctic conditions;
Michael Warland
Mitch Warland
Jenny Tucker
Luke Debrowski
Anosh Vakeel
Abhishek Prasad Joshi
Don Caruso
Brett Bryson
Kane Landorf
Peter Roach
Graham Lamacraft
Dean Ratcliff
Damien Tucker
Morgen Roach
Special thanks to Dean and Roachie for coming down to help set up, before backing it up with the closing shift. Graham Lamacraft did an amazing job with pretty much all the sourcing of product for us, keeping the costs as low as possible.
Best on Ground was Abhi, who was extremely excited to do "The most Aussie thing he's ever done, cook a BBQ"
Thanks to Liam Tucker, Wes Trebilcock, Bharat Roocke and Matt Taylor for coming to visit. Matty even bought 10 sausages to pay it forward to the next customers, which took us 45 minutes to move as pretty much everyone kindly agreed to pay it forward as well!
Fingers crossed we get better weather when we do it all again next year!

Weather is clearing up - BBQ is firing. Come down and say G'Day!

VALE COL SIMONS
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Col Simons, a much-loved member of the extended Morphettville Park Cricket Club family.
Col, the father of current player and club stalwart Mark Simons and former player Craig Simons, passed away this morning after a very short illness, aged 70.
While Col may never have been a regular player for the club, he did make one memorable appearance in the D Grade as a fill-in during the 2008–09 season, where he scored a duck, promptly retiring afterwards.
Far more importantly, Col was one of the club's most loyal supporters. Wherever Mark played, Col was there on the boundary, cheering him on. He was also a familiar face around the club on training nights and at presentations, always happy to share in the successes of the team - especially when Mark had a good day.
A quiet and humble man, Col's unwavering support for his sons, their teammates, and the Morphettville Park Cricket Club over many years did not go unnoticed. His presence became part of the fabric of our club, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
On behalf of everyone at Morphettville Park Cricket Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mark, Craig, Coralie, and the entire Simons family during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest in peace, Col. 🏏❤️

🌭🔥 BIG FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY FOR THE CLUB! 🔥🌭
As we start planning for the new season, we have an exciting fundraising opportunity that has come our way!
The club has secured a coveted Bunnings Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Marion on Saturday, 11 July. For anyone who knows how these work, you'll know this is a huge win - weekend spots at Marion often have a waiting list of 12 months or more!
The committee will take care of all the organisation, supplies and setup, but we need our amazing club members to help make the day a success.
We're looking for 3 volunteers per shift, plus one dedicated BBQ Captain to oversee the day. Shifts are just 2 hours long, so even giving up a small part of your Saturday can make a massive difference.
No master chef skills required! One person cooks at a time, and there are plenty of other jobs to keep things running smoothly. Many hands make light work, and if the weather is kind, we expect it to be a busy and rewarding day.
Most importantly, if this event goes well, it has the potential to put thousands of dollars directly back into the club and give our season a fantastic financial boost right from the start.
👇 Please comment below with the shift(s) you can help with:
08:30am – 10:30am
- Mike Warland
- Chris Von Der Borch
- Jordan Von Der Borch
- Luke Debrowski
10:30am – 12:30pm
- Anosh Vakeel
- Rebecca Ireland
- Don Caruso
12:30pm – 02:30pm
- Anosh Vakeel
- Brett Bryson
- Kane Landorf
02:30pm – 04:30pm
- Peter Roach
- Graham Lamacraft
- Dean Ratcliff
- Damien Tucker
Let's get behind the club and make this a great day! 💪🌭

🏏✨ 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲/𝟮𝟳 – 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗘 ✨🏏
Following another successful Annual General Meeting, Morphettville Park Cricket Club is excited to announce the Committee that will lead our club into the 2026/27 season.
At the helm once again is Caleb Rybalka, who has been re-elected as President for a second consecutive year. He will be joined by returning Vice President Mark Voyzey and newly elected Vice President Graham Lamacraft, while Dean Ratcliff and Wes Trebilcock continue in their respective roles as Treasurer and Secretary.
We also welcome several newly appointed committee members, with Scott Paterson taking on the role of Head of Cricket, Jacob Fishwick appointed to Venue Operations, and Sheila Paterson stepping into the position of Volunteer Coordinator.
Congratulations to our Executive Committee on their appointments for the 2026/27 season. Thank you for your continued dedication, support and service to our club. The time and effort you invest behind the scenes is invaluable, and we look forward to another successful year under your leadership.
With the proposed changes successfully approved at the AGM, we will be trialling a new committee structure for the next 12 months, featuring more diverse and clearly defined roles and responsibilities across the club.
Supporting the executive committee in these key operational roles are:
🏏 Social Media – Morgen Roach
🏏 Club Records – Kev Brokensha
🏏 Association Delegate – Caleb Rybalka
🏏 Merchandise & Equipment – Ben Webb
🏏 Sponsorship – Luke Debrowski & Graham Lamacraft
🏏 Grants Writer – Ben Webb
🏏 Social Calendar – Peter Roach
As always, the club's success is driven by its members, and there are still several positions to be filled. If you would like to get involved, please reach out to any committee member. All help is welcome. Any positions currently unfilled will be confirmed by the incoming committee once candidates have been contacted.
Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM and to those who continue to contribute their time, passion, and commitment to making our club stronger every year.

AGM Reminder - This Sunday May 31st at 2PM at the Club
All players and members are welcome. Come have your say about the future direction of the club.
We are now the largest club in Southern Adelaide, with both Senior and Junior numbers growing rapidly over recent seasons. With that growth comes a significant increase in the day-to-day workload required to keep the club running smoothly - much of which falls on a small group of volunteers.
Firstly, I want to sincerely thank this season’s committee for the dedication and sheer volume of work put in to successfully operate the club. That said, it has become clear that we need to evolve how we operate moving forward.
-------------------------
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞?
Through workshops focused on improving and streamlining club operations, the executive has identified a key issue:
👉 We have plenty of people willing to help throughout the season
👉 But many can’t commit to the time required for full committee roles
So instead of relying on a small group to manage everything, we’re proposing a structure that spreads the workload from the few to the many.
-------------------------
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞
𝟏. 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 (𝟖 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬)
These roles will form the official committee, oversee club operations, and attend monthly meetings:
• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Volunteer Coordinator
• Venue Operations
• Head of Cricket
• Junior Coordinator
𝟐. 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 (𝟏𝟔 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬)
These roles are essential to the club’s success but do not require meeting attendance - you simply manage your designated responsibilities:
• Social Media Manager
• Club Records
• Association Delegate
• Merchandise & Equipment Manager
• Sponsor Coordinator
• Grants Writer
• Bar Manager
• Kitchen Manager
• Grounds Manager
• Social Coordinator
• Functions Coordinator
• Senior Coach
• Captains
• Assistant Junior Coordinator
• Junior Coaches
• Junior Girls Coordinator
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬
• Individuals can hold multiple roles
• Every role will have a clear, itemised job description
• All roles count as 1 year of committee service toward Life Membership
• All roles (except Captains & Coaches) will have voting rights for Club Person of the Year and Life Membership nominations
• Multiple roles = one vote total per person
-------------------------
𝐀𝐆𝐌 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥
Because this structure differs from our current Constitution, we will not be making permanent changes yet.
Instead, we will propose this as a 1-season trial for 2026/27.
If successful, we can then look at formal constitutional changes in the future.
-------------------------
𝐍𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
The current committee has already been proactive —- with some members putting their hands up for roles and even starting early - but all positions remain open for nomination.
• Executive roles will be elected at the AGM
• Remaining roles will be appointed by the executive committee afterward
If you’re interested in getting involved or want more information, please review the attached role descriptions or reach out to Caleb directly.
This is a significant shift in how the club operates, but one we strongly believe will position MPCC for continued growth and long-term success.
More than ever, we encourage all members to attend the AGM on May 31 — have your say, help shape the committee, and be part of the club’s future. Please see the attached flow chart for how the job structures would work, as well as the attached document with full job descriptions at the below link;
https://uploadnow.io/files/QcwmJ7k
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Regards,
Caleb Rybalka
MPCC President
