In January 2026, the CA Board endorsed the establishment of a Gateball Australia Management Committee (GAMC) to guide and grow the operations of Gateball Australia.
We welcome the GAMC officers, who were appointed by the Board in March as:

The GAMC assumes responsibility for work undertaken by the Gateball National Coordinator (NCGB) role and several Gateball committees (GAMC TOR).
We thank Ros Crowe for her work over the past 4 years in the NCGB role, particularly growing the sport, increasing the professionalism and governance processes of Gateball, and raising Australia’s profile on the international stage.

Thoughts About the Future of Croquet Talk.
Every page eventually reaches a point where it must decide what it wants to become.
After much thought, I have decided what Croquet Talk will continue to be—and what it won’t.
From today, you may notice that I publish fewer posts.
That is not because there is less to say.
It is because I want every post to have a purpose.
Croquet Talk was never created to fill news feeds or chase engagement. It was created to encourage thoughtful conversation, explore the history of our game, celebrate its people, discuss its challenges and, where possible, contribute positively to its future.
As the page has grown, one thing has become increasingly clear.
Meaningful conversation cannot be measured by the number of comments beneath a post.
Nor is Croquet Talk a drop in, step out page.
It is a community.
Everyone is welcome to contribute. Different opinions are welcome. Honest disagreement is welcome.
What is less helpful is the habit of appearing only to make a point, often from behind a profile that reveals little about the person, and then leaving without any real intention of listening, learning or becoming part of the wider conversation.
That is not how communities grow.
Communities grow when people share experiences, ask questions, exchange ideas respectfully and remain willing to continue the conversation.
That is the community I want Croquet Talk to be.
If publishing fewer posts helps raise the standard of discussion, encourages more meaningful participation and keeps the focus where it belongs—on croquet—then I believe that is the right direction.
Croquet Talk was never created to give everyone a platform.
It was created to give our game one.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed thoughtfully, respectfully and generously. Your support has helped shape Croquet Talk into something far more valuable than a page.
It has become a community.
Quality over quantity.
Conversation over commentary.
Community over noise.
