A huge congratulations to all of our Country Championship representatives on taking out the 2026 Country Championships! The Eastern Zone has now claimed the title for the third consecutive year, an incredible achievement.

A special congratulations to Damien Venning and Mike Attiwill, who have once again led the Eastern Zone to success, making it three in a row under their guidance.

We’re also incredibly proud to celebrate our Blackwood Girls who were recognised in the Team of the Championships:

COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP REPRESENTATIVES ❤️💚

We’re incredibly proud to have eight Blackwood Football Club players selected to represent the Eastern Zone at the 2026 Country Championships.

Representing our Women's program are Ely Haylock, Mackenzie O'Dea, Emma Robinson, Savannah Rayner, Isabella Calvanese, Shanique West and Tamika May, while Jaxin Faehrmann has earned selection from our Men's program.

Adding to our club's strong presence, we're also thrilled to have Damien Venning and Mike Attiwill once again leading the Women’s Eastern Zone coaching group. After previous year's success, they'll be looking to guide the team through another outstanding Country Championships campaign.

💚❤️ SATURDAY'S RECORD BREAKING WIN ❤️💚

WHAT. A. DAY.

The Mighty Woods A Grade have produced one of the most dominant performances in recent club history, defeating the Mount Barker Roos 25.17 (167) to 2.5 (17) in a record-breaking 150-point victory!

It was also the perfect way to celebrate Tyson "Clarky" Clark's 100th A Grade game with a milestone he'll never forget. We said we hoped we could celebrate his century with a big win... safe to say the boys delivered in style! 💚❤️

Saturday's result wasn't just a win... it was one for the history books.

📊 The numbers don't lie:
🏆 Largest win over Mount Barker in any A Grade game since 2006 (previous best: 69 points in Round 11, 2009).
🔥 8th highest A Grade score kicked since 2006.
💪 Largest A Grade winning margin since our 145-point victory over Ironbank in Round 9, 2009.
🌲 The 7th largest A Grade win since 2006. Every other win of this magnitude came under Paul Page or Salievic against Bridgewater (five times) and Lobethal (once).

It looks like our legendary Coach has certainly got a handle on the season! 😜👏
It's been a long time since we've seen the Woods playing with this level of confidence, pressure and belief.

The four premiership points don't just feel good, they've launched us from 6th to 4th on the ladder, putting us right in the mix as we head into the business end of the season.

A huge congratulations to every player, coach, volunteer and supporter who helped make today such a special one. This was a complete team performance and one that everyone connected with the club can be incredibly proud of.

This weekend we celebrate a fantastic milestone as Tyson Clark pulls on the green and red for his 100th game with the Mighty Woods!

Tyson has been a consistent and committed contributor to our senior program, earning the respect of teammates, coaches and supporters through his hard work, determination and team-first attitude.

His outstanding 2024 season saw him recognised as Runner-Up in the A Grade Best & Fairest, a reflection of the impact he continues to have both on and off the field.

🔴🟢 Congratulations on the century, Tyson! This is a milestone to be incredibly proud of. We hope the boys can top off the occasion with a big win and make your 100th game one to remember!

A quick update for our supporters – our C Grade were scheduled to take on Macclesfield on Sunday, however that match has unfortunately been awarded to Blackwood by forfeit.
While we're grateful to receive the four points, we'd much rather see our C Grade boys out on the park doing what they love. It's disappointing for our players who were looking forward to another opportunity to pull on the jumper, but unfortunately it is what it is. We know they'll be ready to go again next week.

WEEKEND RESULTS ❤️💚

Our HFL Senior Women continued their strong season with a fantastic 44 (6.8) to 16 (2.4) victory over Mt Lofty.

Unfortunately, it wasn't the result our SFL Senior Women were after, going down to Reynella - 0 def by 106 (15.16)

In our junior grades, the U17 HFL girls fought hard but were defeated by a strong Mt Lofty, side - 3 (0.3) def by 44 (6.8)

Both of our U14 sides had dominant performances. The U14 HFL girls kept Nairne scoreless in a commanding 13.17 (95) to 0 win, while the U14 SFL girls produced an incredible 19.17 (131) to 0.2 (2) victory over Noarlunga. A special mention goes to Charli Bradbrook, who put on a masterclass up forward, finishing with an outstanding 10 goals in the SFL game.

Our SANFL Juniors had mixed results, with the U10s securing another win, while the U12s went down to Tea Tree Gully.

What a response! After the Rams pinched a 3-point win at our home ground earlier this season, the boys dug deep to return the favour. Trailing at half-time, they hit the front in the third quarter and fought tooth and nail in the last to claim an unforgettable 2-point victory.

This Saturday, one of our own reaches an incredible milestone, with Bella Drew set to play her 50th SANFLW League game! ❤️💚

From the moment Bella first pulled on the Sturt guernsey, she's built a reputation as one of the toughest and most reliable defenders. An elite intercept marker, fearless in the contest, relentless with her tackling pressure and trusted with ball in hand, Bella is the kind of player every team wants behind the footy. Her consistency and ability to read the play have made her the brick wall of every backline she's been a part of.

But what makes Bella so special goes far beyond what she produces on game day.

As a proud Blackwood junior, Bella has always remained deeply connected to our club. Whether she's out supporting our girls, volunteering her time, sharing her knowledge or simply being someone our young players can look up to, she continues to give back to the place where her football journey began. She embodies everything Blackwood stands for and is a role model both on and off the field.

Reaching 50 SANFLW League games is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of Bella's hard work, resilience and commitment to her football over many years.
