CHARLOTTE TAYLOR - HFL SENIOR WOMENS LEADING GOALKICKER ❤️💚

A huge season in front of goals for Charlotte Taylor, who has been awarded the 2026 HFL Senior Women’s Leading Goalkicker, finishing the season with an incredible 35 goals. 🔥

A constant threat inside 50, Charlotte’s ability to find the goals and make the most of her opportunities has made her such an important part of our forward line all season. She continues to play a huge role in the success of our Senior Women’s Blackwood team!!

35 goals and a premiership to top it all off. 🏆

And congratulations to Ely Haylock who came equal runner up in the HFLW Mail Medal, despite missing 3 games from injury she finished just 2 points behind the winner Tiffany Vears from Hahndorf.

What an incredible night for Blackwood Football Club, with our players once again proving they're among the very best in the Hills Football League!

🌟 C GRADE MAIL MEDAL WINNER – ZAC MURAR 🌟

A massive congratulations to Zac Murar, who was crowned Joint C Grade Mail Medallist after polling 14 votes, sharing the honour with Bailey Payne from Milang.

An outstanding season from Zac, whose consistency, determination and leadership all year have been rewarded in the best possible way. A Mail Medal around your neck is something special – congratulations, Zac! 👏🏅

🥈 A GRADE RUNNER-UP – HARRY SCHOLZ

Another huge effort from Harry Scholz, who polled 18 votes to finish runner-up in the A Grade Mail Medal. Harry was only bettered by Brad Jeffries (Onka Valley) on 21 votes.

Week after week Harry has been one of the competition's standout players, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved. What a season! 💪

🥈 B GRADE RUNNER-UP – JENSEN PALMER

Congratulations to Jensen Palmer, who finished runner-up in the B Grade Mail Medal with 12 votes, just behind Caleb Hooper (Uraidla) on 15 votes.

Jensen has been a driving force for the B Grade all season, and this result reflects the impact he's had every time he's pulled on the green and red. 👏

🥅 B GRADE LEADING GOAL KICKER – MATT "WALDO" WALDRON

54 GOALS... AND HE'S NOT FINISHED YET! 🔥

A massive congratulations to Matt "Waldo" Waldron, who currently leads the B Grade goal kicking with an incredible 54 goals for the season.

With finals fast approaching and still a few games to play, let's get around Waldo and see just how high he can push that tally! 💚❤️

🥈 SENIOR WOMEN'S RUNNER-UP – ELY HAYLOCK

A fantastic achievement for Ely Haylock, who polled 16 votes to finish equal runner-up alongside Kate Chapman (Mount Lofty). Both were only two votes behind eventual winner Tiffany Vears (Hahndorf) on 18 votes.

Ely's work rate, toughness and consistency have been outstanding all season, and this recognition is a testament to the year she's put together. We're incredibly proud of you! 👏

To all of our award recipients – congratulations! Nights like these are a reflection of the hard work, commitment and passion you've shown throughout the season.

Five teams are still flying the red & green, and the dream of premiership glory is alive!

While our C Grade have already punched their ticket to a HOME Grand Final, this weekend it's the turn of four more Blackwood sides to fight for their place on the biggest stage.

🔥 U12s
Second on the ladder and full of confidence, our young Woods take on Salisbury North in a Preliminary Final. One more win and they'll be dancing on Grand Final day!

🔥 U14s
The minor premiers face off against second-placed Mount Barker in what promises to be an absolute blockbuster. Keep an eye on HFL U14 Best & Fairest Ashby Kleinig, who also leads the league goal kicking alongside teammate Sunny Cassell, as our talented young side looks to book their Grand Final berth.

🔥 U18s
Undefeated, Our U18 boys have been the benchmark all season and now face Mount Barker in a massive qualifying final. One more win sends them straight through to the Grand Final.

🔥 B Grade
Another side finishing top of the ladder, our B Grade take on Uraidla with a Grand Final spot on the line. They've earned their chance all season, now it's time to finish the job.

HFL U14 BEST & FAIREST & JOINT LEADING GOAL KICKER. WHAT A SEASON!

A huge congratulations to Ashby Kleinig on an outstanding season, taking out the HFL Under 14's Best & Fairest and finishing as Joint Leading Goal Kicker! 🏆🔴🟢

Ashby was the definition of consistency in 2026, polling votes in 14 of 16 games to finish with an incredible 31 votes, while also kicking 35 goals for the season. An exceptional achievement that reflects the hard work, commitment and impact he has had all year. 👏🔴🟢

A massive congratulations also to Sunny Cassell, who shares the Joint Leading Goal Kicker honours with 35 goals! 🎯🔴🟢
Sunny has been an absolute force in our forward line this season, creating opportunities, applying relentless pressure and consistently hitting the scoreboard. His presence inside 50 has been a huge asset for the team, and this achievement is thoroughly deserved! 💪❤️💚

We are so incredibly proud of both boys and the entire Under 14 squad. The commitment, teamwork and determination they've shown throughout the season has been amazing, and we can't wait to see what they can produce in the finals! ❤️💚

SA COUNTRY CUP CHAMPIONS 🏆❤️💚

We saw a huge Blackwood presence in the inaugural Women’s City v Country Cup on Saturday, with SA Country taking home the win, 30 (4.6) - 29 (4.5)

Four of our Woods pulled on the SA Country guernsey:

An incredible achievement to have seven members of the Blackwood Football Club representing SA Country across the playing and coaching group, and even better to see them come away with the inaugural trophy after a one point win 🏆

🏆 CHARLI BRADBROOK - U14 HFL LEADING GOAL KICKER ❤️💚

What a season from Charli Bradbrook, who has taken out the U14 HFL Leading Goal Kicker award after an incredible year in front of goal.

As a double bottom-ager, Charli kicked 25 goals during the HFL minor season, before adding another 6 throughout the finals series to finish with 31 HFL goals for the year.

And she certainly wasn’t done there.

Playing across both competitions, Charli also booted an incredible 66 goals in the U14 SFL, finishing as the second-highest goal kicker in the competition.

That takes her tally to a massive 97 GOALS across the 2026 season. 🤯

Charli played 14 HFL games and 17 SFL games, all 31 possible games across the two competitions, making her the only player to play every game across both U14 sides this season.

At just 12 years old, Charli’s ability to consistently find the goals, compete and make an impact across two competitions has been seriously impressive.

31 games. 97 goals. One huge season, and plenty more to come. 🔥

🏅 MIRA ROSS - HFL U14 GIRLS BEST & FAIREST ❤️💚

An incredible achievement for Mira Ross, crowned the 2026 HFL U14 Girls Best & Fairest, topping the league count with 22 votes! 🏆

Still a bottom-ager, Mira produced an outstanding season across the competition. As a seriously versatile player, she has the ability to make an impact wherever she is needed on the ground. Her exceptional kick, clean use of the football and relentless work rate consistently stood out throughout the season.

As captain of our U14 Girls, Mira’s leadership was another huge part of her year, setting the standard through her effort, competitiveness and team-first approach.

And when the biggest moment of the season arrived, she delivered. Mira helped lead the Woods to the 2026 Premiership, producing a brilliant performance on Grand Final day to also be named Best on Ground. 💪🏼

To claim the league’s highest individual honour as a bottom-ager, in a premiership year, is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the consistency and impact Mira had across the entire season.

It was also a huge result for the Woods, with Blackwood star Nova Andrews finishing as runner-up on 17 votes, giving Blackwood an incredible 1st and 2nd place finish in the league Best & Fairest! ❤️💚

22 votes. League Best & Fairest. Grand Final BOG. Premiership Captain. And still a bottom-ager. 🤯

An unforgettable season for Mira, with plenty more still to come. Congratulations Mira, the woods family couldn’t be prouder! ❤️💚

The 2026 season has come to an end for our Mighty Woods Under 16s and A Grade sides, and while the results didn't go our way, we couldn't be prouder of what these teams have achieved. ❤️💚

Our Under 16s fought back with incredible determination, producing a brilliant comeback before falling heartbreakingly short by just one point. A performance that showed the character and resilience of this group.

Our A Grade season came to an end against a much more experienced side, but if you had told us 12 months ago that our A Grade team would be playing finals, many wouldn't have believed it. To finish where we did this season is an exceptional achievement and a testament to the hard work, commitment and belief of this playing group and coaching staff.

2026 has been a year of enormous growth, learning and development for the Mighty Woods. We've taken huge strides as a club, and we're incredibly proud of everyone who has played a part in this journey.

A massive thank you to our players, coaches, support staff, volunteers and supporters who have helped get us to finals. Your dedication and passion are what make this club so special. 💚❤️

While season has ended for the under 16's and the A grade, our finals journey isn't over. We'll now be getting behind our remaining teams as they continue their finals campaigns, with the next round taking place at Mount Barker. More details will be shared later this week.

A HUGE win under lights last night has officially booked our C Grade Men a spot in the 2026 GRAND FINAL!

After finishing the season as minor premiers, the boys showed exactly why, putting together a dominant performance against a tough Lobethal side to come away with a 19-point win.
