I used to wear a lot of black, and a lot of dark colours.

At the time, I never really questioned it. đŸ€”

I also wasn’t particularly happy in my job either, but I never connected the two.

What I do remember is how frustrated I felt.

My wardrobe was overflowing with clothes, yet every morning I felt like I had nothing to wear.

Getting dressed became exhausting.đŸ˜Ș

I’d get changed two or three times before leaving the house because nothing felt right.

I was buying clothes because I liked them, not because they worked for me.

Then I’d get them home, hang them in my wardrobe and still have nothing to wear.

Eventually, I just got to a point where I thought, I need help. 😅

I need someone to come in and help me change the way I’d been doing things.

So I booked in with a personal stylist.

I thought she was just going to help me with my wardrobe.

What I didn’t expect was how differently I’d feel afterwards.

I remember not long after she’d left, standing in front of my wardrobe and feeling this incredible sense of relief.

The clothes had been there the whole time. 💡

I just couldn’t see them through all the overwhelm.

She helped me let go of the pieces that weren’t serving me anymore and focus on the clothes I genuinely loved wearing.

For the first time in a long time, I actually felt excited to get dressed. đŸ„č

One of the biggest things she gave me wasn’t a new wardrobe.

She gave me permission to wear my favourite clothes.

Not save them for a special occasion.

But to actually wear them. Every day.

Because feeling good evert day is what I I deserved.

I walked away feeling lighter. 😌

Like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

And when I look back now, I don’t think it was just my wardrobe that had lost its spark.

I had too.

That’s why I’m so passionate about the work I do today.

Because I know what it feels like to think your wardrobe is the problem. 🙃

Often the clothes have been there all along.

You just need someone to help you see them differently. đŸ„°

I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed this, but sometimes two outfits can look perfectly fine, and yet they make you feel completely different. đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

That happened to me about a week ago.

The moment I put this first outfit on, I instantly felt amazing. I didn’t think about it again for the rest of the day. I felt comfortable and me.

A few days later, I wore the second outfit.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. The pieces worked. They fitted well and if you’d seen me walking down the street, you probably wouldn’t have thought twice about it.

But I noticed something. 🧐

I kept catching myself thinking about what I was wearing. I wasn’t as comfortable and I didn’t feel quite like myself.

It wasn’t the clothes and it wasn’t me.

It was simply a combination that didn’t feel as much like me as the first one did.

And that was worth paying attention to. 💡

So often we judge an outfit by whether it looks “good” or whether someone else compliments it.

But I think an even better question to ask yourself is, how do you feel when you’re wearing it?

Do you forget about your clothes because they feel just right? Or do you spend the day thinking about them because something doesn’t quite feel right?

That’s the beauty of experimenting with your wardrobe.

Not every combination is going to feel right every time, and that’s okay. Because every time you try something, you’re learning a little more about yourself.

You’re discovering what feels natural, what reflects who you are and what simply doesn’t.

And I think that’s one of the most valuable parts of developing your personal style.

Because the goal isn’t to create outfits that just look good.

It’s to create outfits that feel like you. 😌

You know those outfits that instantly change how you feel?

The ones that make you stand a little taller, put a smile on your face and give you that little boost before you’ve even left the house.

That’s how this outfit made me feel today. đŸ€ŽđŸ©¶

And it’s exactly why personal style matters. đŸ™ŒđŸ»

It’s about understanding what works for you, what feels like you and choosing pieces that make you feel confident, comfortable and like the best version of yourself.

Because when you feel good in what you’re wearing, it has a way of setting you up for a fabulous day.

And I think we all deserve more of that.😌

I was a little worried about sharing this video because I didn’t want it to reflect on me as not feeling comfortable or confident in my skills and abilities.

It’s actually quite the opposite.

My nerves come from caring deeply about you and the experience I create for you. đŸ„°

And the older I get, the more I realise that nerves aren’t always a bad thing.

Often they’re a reflection of care, passion and the importance we place on something.

And after so many conversations with my clients over the years (including this week), I’ve learned that we’re usually all carrying a few butterflies into new experiences. 🩋

Whether that’s reaching out for support, trying something new or stepping outside our comfort zone.

Maybe that’s just part of being human. ❀

I wanted to share this with you because it’s easy to think you’re the only one feeling those butterflies, when often I’m feeling them too, just perhaps in different ways. đŸ„° xx
