We are pumped to announce the debut of Liam.Smith in the A grade this week against Unley.

Liam, a Modbury Junior has been building as the year has progressed to be a super dangerous small forward with great goal sense and forward positioning, using his speed and skill to kick 12 majors thus far . The ‘Wizard’ spent most of the year off in 2025 and has really applied himself this pre season to earn this call up.

We can’t wait to see Smithy hit the ground running, hopefully the lads can get a win and make it a debut to remember.

A massive celebration of past players but we will be especially celebrating the 2001 premiership sides for their 25 year reunion.

One of the best days on the calendar will kick off at 12pm, lunch served at 1pm and Past Players panel interview will kick off before the A grade.

First one in the brand new nest, all past players, supporters are welcome !

After an events catch up with the committee, Past Players Day (to give the event all we need to) is being moved to the 25th of July, all the details will be shared next week. We didn’t want to waste a home Saturday night, so Beer Pong is back next weekend!

Gather your partner, lock in your team and get ready for a night of fierce competition, cold beers, plenty of laughs and bragging rights that will last all season.

Round 10 in the books, onto the Goodwood away trip this Saturday 🦅

WOMEN’S DEBUTS
A huge congratulations to our newest Senior Women’s debutants across Rounds 6 and 9. We’re incredibly proud to see these talented young players step up and embrace the opportunity to represent the Hawkettes, making their debuts even more memorable with some great team performances.

Jasmine McCard made her senior debut in Round 6 before returning in Round 9. After making an immediate impact since joining Modbury, Jasmine has established herself as a reliable forward with strong marking ability and excellent kicking skills. We look forward to watching her continue to develop within our senior program.

Olivia Underwood debuted in Round 9 at just 15 years old after progressing through our junior ranks since U6s. A member of this year’s SANFL State U16 team and part of Norwood’s inaugural SANFL Girls Premiership side, Olivia’s work ethic, clean skills and goal sense make her an exciting young talent with a bright future.

Keira Simpson also made her senior debut in Round 9 after rising through Modbury’s junior program since U10s. Having already stepped up to U18s while still eligible for U16s, Keira has proven herself to be a fearless, versatile player who brings energy, confidence and determination to every contest.

We also warmly welcomed Liza Hollister, who made her Hawkettes debut in Round 9. Coming from a soccer background, Liza has quickly adapted to football, impressing with her strength, competitiveness and willingness to attack every contest. We’re excited to see her continue to grow throughout the season.

Congratulations to all four players on reaching this milestone—we can’t wait to watch your journeys continue in the Senior Women’s program. 🦅
