Round 4 of Rx8 cup wrapped up, and all I can say is I did the best I could with what I had. After the hit the car received in race 2, the car didn’t quite steer right. Ashton was a gem and stringlined the car for me, but every time I hit a ripple strip the geometry would change and it was very unsettling. The long third gearbox, knackered motor and worn out tyres certainly didn’t help either 😂
I finished race 3 P12, I did get a very good start but after a safety car bunched up the field I couldn’t hold position on the restart.
The final race I finished P13. Definitely some things to be done after this round, I feel my driving was there but in a car that wasn’t. Looking towards the next race at One Raceway in October, so hopefully we can get some budget to make poor old frogger driveable again.

Day 1 at winton done. Definitely struggling to find pace this weekend but the field is super tight and I am one of 3 cars on old tyres this weekend, so that may be playing a small part.
In qualifying I was P13, not bad but not great.

Race 1 I got a great start and maintained position to bring it home P11.
Race 2 I got taken out on lap 1, and could only recover 2 spots, coming home P13.
Tomorrow is a new day, keen to make back some positions.

May not have been able to race yesterday, but I still got to be a part of it all ❤️ and I got to watch Eli from Patten Motorsport win his first of what I can only imagine will be many championships in the formula ford. Thanks everyone for making an average weekend a whole lot better 💕

Back in the formula ford for my second ever race meeting in the thing, and sadly it has come to an end on day 1.
I did my best ever qualifying in the car, P7 in a 10 car field and doing consistently faster lap times than last meeting. I was super happy with my quali and had my eyes forward on race 1.

I finally figured out how to do a race start in one of these, but coming through turn 1 off the start it popped out of gear and the field went around me 😭 turns out the gear popping out was a big issue (after it caught me out a few more times) and I did the entire race steering with one hand and holding it in gear with the other, which wasn’t easy and I’ll be feeling it tomorrow 😂

Laurie, Toby and Mik fixed the gearbox, with the help of pretty much all the formula ford boys lending parts and advice and offering help, which was so amazing ❤️ it was thankfully just a worn dog gear.
Sadly while testing the gearbox, the clutch slave decided it didn’t want to hold fluid anymore, and being so new to driving this car I am not yet confident enough to drive it without a clutch, so we have made the decision to park the car 😭

I’m hoping to get to the Kent nationals in this car, but it’s all down to budget, and not sure if I can make it work out. But I have had a fantastic time in the formula ford this year, and it has taught me so much about my driving. On top of that, the fellow competitors are incredible and so so helpful and supportive, so it’s definitely a series I would like to do more of. Thank you to Mik and Laurie for the lend of the car, I am forever grateful ❤️

It was such a privilege to be a guest speaker at the For The Girls Events auto expo a few weeks ago. So many inspirational women who have found success in many different aspects of the industry all in the one place.

I always enjoy events like this and meeting like minded people and hearing their stories, and I’m already excited for auto expo 2027!

4 crazy weekends of racing in a row. Keen to be back in the workshop this weekend to be able to unwind a little bit. Next one will be back in the formula ford at One Raceway 🥳🥳

That’s round 3 wrapped for the season! Yesterday was a huge day with qualifying and 4 races all in the single day. I qualified P14 and managed to make up 1 spot in race 1 to finish 13th.

Race 2 I was battling hard and had moved up to around 10th position when my gearbox handed me a fistful of neutrals. I managed to get 2nd and 5th to work enough for a very painful P13 finish, and the gearbox completely seized up on the entry into the pits 😬 lucky there wasn’t another lap to go.

Race 3 I made a few mistakes and somehow finished lower than I did with a broken gearbox, coming home P14. And in the final race I achieved my goal for the weekend and finished top 10!! I also reclaimed my title as the used tyre queen 💅🏻 placing as the highest finisher on old tyres for the round.
A huge congratulations to my teammate Grant Bray on his first Rx8 cup round podium, we all know how hard you have worked for that spot and we are grateful to be part of your journey ❤️
