We often say that a martial artist should be prepared for anything. This past weekend our team embodied that ideology.

We competed in a different type of sparring tournament at the Victorian Open ITF State Championships. As a WT Taekwondo club we train towards our own sparring tournaments however we had the opportunity to compete at the ITF Victorian Championships.

The effort our team gave was incredible, overall CTA came 4th place as a club. This is an amazing result, as we were the smallest team there (the second smallest had 10) and the only team to not compete in poomsae. Our team competed primarily in Sparring with a bit of Power Breaking for fun. To come up against world championship level clubs, and not only never back down but also win is an amazing achievement.

Overall Team CTA had the following,
🥇 5
🥈 4
🥉 5

With one of our competitors Zarlie coming first overall for Australia as the number 1 ranked individual athlete of the day. An incredible achievement for a student who has only been training for 2.5 years.

Team CTA is the only competitive Taekwondo team in South Australia, to compete and succeed at a high level for both WTF competitions and ITF competitions.
