In addition to the four qualifiers from the regional Challenges of Round 4 of the 2026 Austrian 🇦🇹 Snooker League, 12 of the current top 13 players in the rankings have entered.

Beyond the top 10 places, players are competing for a spot in the top 24 of the 2026 final rankings. Under the system changes being introduced in 2027, this will mean a guaranteed place in the first half of the next Grand Prix season.

The fifth Grand Prix of the season will take place on August 29–30 at HSV-Krems/Mautern.

Carl Walter Steiner 🇦🇹 achieves a personal milestone at the 2026 Vimy Ridge Classic in Winnigpeg 🇨🇦 with his first-ever group win at a World Billiards ranking event and finishes the tournament in 9th place, after missing out on a place in the quarter-finals by an unbelievably narrow margin: despite having an ongoing break, he fell short by a fraction of a second — and ultimately by just one point.

The double-header in Canada concludes with the PABSA Pan Am Cup which begins later today.

Soon, eight ÖSBV 🇦🇹 athletes will be heading to Sofia 🇧🇬, where, from September 9 to 20, the European Billiards and Snooker Association Championships for Snooker Seniors, as well as the 6 Reds, Team Event, and Shoot-out competitions in the Open category, will take place.

After the season opener in Leeds, Carl Walter Steiner 🇦🇹 is heading straight into the 2026/27 World Billiards season. In Winnipeg 🇨🇦 CW, who is Austria's top-ranked player in the WBL rankings, is competing in two events.

At the Vimy Ridge Classic, the experienced billiards all-rounder is seeded number one in Group J. And with three wins from three matches, he made a perfect start to his overseas tournaments.

From August 27, the PABSA Pan Am Cup will follow. This Level 5 event offers valuable ranking points, and CW is aiming for a top-30 finish in the World Ranking across the Canadian events.
