DO HARD THINGS. 🧠🔥

Training isn’t just about building a stronger body. It’s about building a stronger mind.

When you choose to do something difficult in training — when your legs are burning, your lungs are screaming and your brain is telling you to stop — you’re practising something that goes far beyond the gym.

You’re teaching yourself that discomfort doesn’t mean danger. Hard doesn’t mean impossible. And wanting to quit doesn’t mean you have to.

Life is going to throw hard things at us whether we’re ready for them or not. Difficult conversations. Setbacks. Stress. Loss. Change. Moments where things don’t go according to plan.

We can’t control when those moments come, but we can build the mental resilience to face them.

Every time you push through one more rep, finish that run, pick up the heavier weight or complete the workout you wanted to quit halfway through, you’re creating evidence that you are capable of doing hard things.

So don’t always train for comfort.

Train for resilience.
Train for discomfort.
Train for the moments when life gets hard.

Because sometimes the hardest thing you do today is preparing you for something you haven’t even faced yet. 🖤

Collagen isn’t just about skin ✨

As someone who trains hard, runs, lifts and puts my body through a lot, collagen has become part of my daily routine because it supports so much more than what we see on the outside.

Chemistry Natural Science Collagen X combines 4 types of collagen + hyaluronic acid to support skin, bones, joints and mobility, while also supporting gut health and overall connective tissue health.

For me, it’s about looking after the body that allows me to do what I love — training hard, working on my feet all day and being able to stay active. 💪🏼

And yes, supporting healthy skin is a pretty great bonus too! 😉

Use FITWITHJORDY for 10% off your Collagen X.

FR tho 😮‍💨

The mental side to a HYROX race is a whole another race of its own 😅 If you don’t mentally prepare yourself for talking through it, it could eat you alive 😂

I would rather have the energy to race than look ripped to other people. 👏🏼

Because here’s something I’ve had to remind myself of during race week:

Your body is not supposed to look the same when it’s fuelled for performance.

When you increase your carbohydrate intake before a race, your body stores more glycogen in your muscles and liver. Glycogen is stored alongside water, so as those stores increase, you can temporarily hold more water and food volume which can mean looking a little fuller, softer or “fluffier”, and sometimes wondering where the hell your abs went. 😂

That does not mean you gained a bunch of body fat.
It does not mean you lost your muscle.
And it definitely does not mean you are less fit or less strong.

In fact, that glycogen is exactly what your body needs to help fuel hard, high-intensity exercise. Carbohydrate availability is an important part of preparing for endurance performance (As mentioned in a review on PubMed) . And for even longer endurance sports(over 90min) the Fuelling needs to increase even more.

And honestly, this is something I think we need to talk about more.

We have been SO programmed by society, fitness culture and the MeanGirl(s) of the internet to believe that if our muscles aren’t visibly popping, we must not be strong or athletic.

If our abs aren’t showing, we’re not lean enough.
If we’re holding water, we’ve “let ourselves go.”
If our body looks softer, we must be doing something wrong.

But what your body looks like is not an indication of what it can do.

A body can look shredded and be exhausted.

A body can look soft and be incredibly strong.

A body can hold more water, more glycogen and more food — and be better prepared to perform.

So during race week, I’m choosing the latter.

I’d rather temporarily hide my abs than hide from the carbs and FUEL my body needs.

I’d rather feel fuelled, powerful and ready to race than spend the final days before competition trying to look good for a photo.

The goal isn’t to “look like an athlete”.
The goal is to fuel your body so you can perform like one. 🧡

And don’t worry…

the abs will come back. 😂

HYROX CAPE TOWN 🔥 my 6th race and 2nd solo race

This was a mentally tough one.

We spend so much time training the physical side of our sport , our strength, fitness, pacing, technique … but I genuinely believe the mental game is half the battle, if not more.

I’m constantly reminding my team that we have to train our minds just as much as we train our bodies. Because when race day comes, your mindset can either carry you through or hold you back.

Going into this race, some mental and emotional challenges recently that come with running a business had definitely affected my mindset, focus and confidence. Looking back at the footage from my race, I’m still frustrated that I let my mind get the better of me in certain moments.

But I also know I wouldn’t have got through it without my incredible support system. My husband and family at home, my team and the people who showed up on the sidelines and the people that have supported me throughout this journey. 💜

Then, somewhere around station 4, my Morton’s neuroma decided to make an appearance… and I spent the rest of the race managing a very unhappy foot.

And somehow… I still PB’d.

And that’s exactly why we train.

Because your body remembers. Every session, every hard rep, every uncomfortable run, every time you chose to keep going. You rehearse it enough, and when your mind is struggling, your body already knows what to do.

This race reminded me that I have a lot more work to do on my mental game, but also that the work we put in physically matters more than we realise. Good days, bad days, they all matter.

Train the body. Train the mind. Trust the work. 🧠💪🏼
